I think this CL ad is funny. Not in a make-fun-of-the-guy way. But it goes to show ya how eclectic the allure of conceiving of a band can be. From the Cincinnati, OH CL this date:
Bros, I continually envision a band that radiates Scout spirit and pays tribute to the lessons, experiences, and morale of scouting. A soundtrack for scouts everywhere to believe in and be proud of. I'm looking for former scouts who are musicians that want write songs that will appeal to a younger demographic about summer camp stories and doing a good turn.
I am a 22 year old drummer who was blessed with an amazing scouting experience. I have so much pent up scout spirit within me that I almost can't handle it. That is why I want to share it with others through music.
I want this to be a cohesive project so I don't want to put a genre on the sound that I am going for, I just want to write upbeat songs that are fun to play and listen to. Also, I don't want to write off any instruments so if you play anything from the harp to the tuba and are really feeling this project still respond, I'd love to hear what you have to say. I would love to hear from guitarists, bassists, and vocalists.
If you have any interest at all, please respond. Feel free to pass this on to anyone that you think may be interested. Also, if you are a female and were involved in venture scouts or girl scouts and you are interested, this is all you as well.
