Class D, power consumption, power output and creative figures

Is that the case, also, with say, 6V6 tubes, for example? ;)

It should be the case with any of the big power tubes. The only caveat is that it's probably cheaper and simpler to get a certain amount of power out of a single pair of tubes, than the same amount with a larger number of lower power tubes. Fewer sockets, less wiring, possibly less filament current, etc. So I imagine a design progression where you move up the power scale by using a single pair of tubes, until you top out with the biggest available bottles, then you start adding pairs of tubes.

It is, only when you specify the particular tubes for those power outputs/tube pair. ;)
