Congrats!! These are fantastic basses!!
Much love for the CV's here. I have two precisions, 60's and 70's. A long sought after fiesta red is waiting for me in CA, and a silver Jazz bass 60's on its way to my place. Both bought here on TB
In the pic below, the Jazz is gone. Just swapped the necks between the two precisions.
In the past, I had many thoughts getting one like yours. Maybe some day...

I've had one for 10 years -- the lake placid blue version -- and it's totally adequate dead stock. The hardware works fine, and the alnico pickup sounds really good. I wouldn't change anything.
thank you --in that case you'll dig my Squire JAZZ bass -- signed by the MisfitsAwesome bass! Also, dig the ghouls.
Mine’s about 9 and a half pounds. They have pine bodies. There are many species of pine ranging from balsa-like to fairly heavy. I have no doubt that the pine was chosen in order to get a fairly attractive grain under the translucent finish for a given price point.10 lbs -- just weighted
ALMOST Peavey weight! my T-45 is 11 and the T-60 is right at 12
I had a Lake Placid Blue one too. The thing was built like a tank and sounded fantastic. I did a side by side comparison with a Sting signature model that cost more than $500 more. I'm sure the hardware and the electronics on the Sting were a few steps up, but not $500 worth. They weighed the same, the fretwork on both was comparable, the sound was indistinguishable from one to the other. The only differences were in the color and the Sting had the name "Sting" in an inlay on the neck. I don't know why anyone would spend the additional cash for the Fender when, in my opinion, the Squier was that close in quality.
I mean-- if I can SCORE an AMERICAN P for a "DEAL" -- Im ON IT!!!! but -- for a Home hobbyist bassist--these Cv's and MIms and stuff are sure good enough to get the job done for many years
