CLASSIC VIBE OR VINTAGE MODIFIED ?

I know theres not much in the way of options for these Basses , the CV is Antique White with Tort Pickguard and the VM is Natural with Black scratchplate [ and horrible Painted block inlays ] , as for build quality , pups and pots etc has anybody owned one of each and have a preference on which one to get for a backup Jazz bass ? . BTW I watched the Ed Friedland tradeoff video between the CV`s and the Fenders and the Classic Vibe Jazz had a more modern scoopy tone than the Fender . ...not bad for the price . I also hear the VM is a lot heavier than the CV ?? .

I like the neck dimensions of the VM better, the CV has high gloss neck (my favorite neck finish), the VMs I've tried have been heavier than the CV, I prefer the CV pups... pretty decent actually.

CV wins IMO but I absolutely wouldn't mind the VM. You really can't go wrong with either,

I've had the VM about a month and I really like it so far. Neck is very comfortable to me. It's not really glossy. I don't like glossy though. Pickups sound pretty good. My only complaint is the weight. It seems quite heavy to me compared to my Ibanez 540 though.
