Clean strings?

I've been accused of having dead stings even when they're only one to two months old.Someone mentioned that sweat(I am a sweaty guy) can really effect string life.( I use stainless steel rounds).Been trying to always wipe down my strings when I'm done playing.Other than that does anyone have any suggestions?Warm water, cleaners etc...

The oil and sweat from your fingers is generally what kills strings over time. Giving them a quick wipe with a cloth after every use will extend their life 10 fold.

Yep. That's the way to go, so you don't have to coil the strings up.

I routinely get three uses out of a set of strings: new out of the package, after a soak, and after another soak. At that point the frets have marked the windings pretty deeply, so I junk the set.

I don't slap and have a fairly light touch and I've soaked mine about 5-6 times (not sure) each.

also I just coil them up in a Tupperware container, no need to make something.
