I was already interested in bass for its deep "doomy" sound as I called it then, I was about.... 13? I heard it in old Greenday songs and thought it sounded cool. But when I heard "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth" I thought: You can do THAT with a bass?!
from then on I was hooked, I wanted a bass and i wanted to play like Cliff. Sence then I've discovered technically better players like Les Claypool and Victor Wooten, but i'll never stop loving and envying Cliff's sound and style. I wish i could afford a Rickenbacker...

Cliff Burton is my Idol. He has influenced my sound, style and technique as a bassist. I have a tattoo of a bass clef with the bass riff (5:40-5:45) from Orion on it.

I did cry.

I have raging man crush on Cliff.
I attacked my friend with a bass for Cliff. I got detention for Cliff. I played the National Anthem for Cliff. Heck, my pinky does that sticking out thing from watching him play so much and learning his parts.

Some people say I rip off his sound, with how I use distortion/wah, but in my defense, I was doing it before I even knew what Metallica was. But he inspired me to expand...to 3 wahs and 3 distortions...
