So in the last year or two I've tried most of the popular (and some obscure) clip on tuners, and I've found the one that seems to work the best by far. The Planet Waves Mini headstock tuner.
You can hardly see it mounted on the leg of my bridge. It picks up my E string faster and better than anything else I've used. Its also fantastic on my ABG. Again, you hardly see it.
I think my tuner searching is done for a while.
