the NS mini had a better performance than the new one, its quicker than the newer micro model, and brighter screen. YMMV

I found the same; in fact, the new micro pretty much wouldn't work on my Fender Ps and Jazz.

I've given up on the three NS micro tuners I bought, they don't work well at all on my jazz basses. Pity, it was a good idea and if it had worked I could have freed up one spot on the pedal board, but no such luck. The tuners work better on some of my other basses and guitars, so I guess I'll have some use for them, but they didn't work at all for my main basses.

I'm in the market for one of these.

I was sitting in for a friends band tonight, and I just handed my Snark over to one of the guitar players. It did not like the flats on my 65 P.
I no longer trusted it, after it let ne down too many times.
I have a 30 year old Arion Stage Tuner pedal that is MUCH more accurate.

Soooo, what to get?/

The Snark does seem a little fussy. I have to move it around on the headstock depending on what string I'm tuning. But it was cheap enough so I'm keeping it

Love the snark. No amount of background noise seems to affect it , quick and accurate , and when you're done with it , it clips onto the handle of my SVT classic head very nicely so it doesn't vibrate off of anything and get lost or broken.

Your kid will borrow it.
I have (had) a red one for ages; easy to find in dim light and tracks very well for what it is.

i believe i have 4 Snark Tuners located in different gig bags and parts of the house.

they are very reliable, a bit fragile, but tuning-wise, i think it's amazing considering the amount you pay for it.

I love my NS Minis, so I got a couple of the new NS Micros. Sadly, they don't seem to work quite as well. They don't seem as stable so you have to re-attack the note more often. And, the display isn't bright enough.

On the plus side, they have a metronome (which I use for setting tap tempos ahead of time), and the clip system is a bit nicer.

Just saw jimmys post about low response on his snark. I did some research on this a while back. The consensus seemed to be that it was a battery problem. The Snark is VERY sensitive to the thickness of the batteries. Some of the cheaper batteries are just a little thinner and after a bit of use , don't make as good a contact as they should. The stated solution was simply to use higher grade batteries (i.e. American made and not the cheaper asian ones) and the problem seems to go away. I can't testify to this problem personally because it has not been a problem for me . I started off with high end batteries and have used them ever since. Had the thing for about a year now and have only had to replace the battery in it once. FWIW I use Duracells in mine. Hope this helps.

THE POWER BUTTON IS HIDDEN! It won't turn itself on, it is much more rugged, very legible on foggy stages, pretty compact, grabs the B string just fine, and its cheap too. Better on batteries than any other tuner I've ever used.

Hope its better then the Snark.
I paid $10 each from GC. One for me, one for my 17 year old son

I'm trying to decide between the Kork Pitchclip and Planet Waves Micro. From looking around online the Korg looks a little nicer but the PW looks a bit more compact which is a plus for me. Anyone use both of these?

What I like most about the Planet Waves Micro is that it's so small and hugs the headstock so closely. That means I can just leave it on the bass, and it won't get knocked off easily. The Korg looks nice, but it will stick out and probably get dislodged more easily.

I have tried 2 of the guitar/bass (blue) snark tuners and a small korg one that was about $20. None of them tracked my low B on my 5 string very well at all.

I am very happy with my Micros. The profile is great. They are not the fastest and it sometimes has trouble with the low B (sometimes it works okay, when it doesn't the harmonic is a good backup), but I find the accuracy matches up very well with the tuner on my Pitchfactor. Between those two I do not have a dedicated tuner pedal.
