Strange, but I never get tired of looking at you LM

The more basses I play over the years since I've owned it, the more I realize what a special bass it is. I rarely gig with anything else at this point. The feel, tone, and weight are perfect, and I have never owned a bass with a more stable neck (I'm not kidding, it has yet to need a truss rod adjustment in the 3+ years I've owned it) and the action is PERFECT... low and buzz free with a very straight neck, very even sounding, wonderful B, minimal dead spot, etc., etc.

I feel very lucky, since I bought this bass without ever trying it, and at the time, knew next to nothing about the brand:bassist:

The LG is killer also, but the LM just has always spoken to me:hyper:

+1 My wife is on the road this weekend, so I'm in total 'bass mode', even early Sunday morning.... complete with a full rig set up in the family room for practice and noodlin'!

As always, BEAUTIFUL instruments you have there! I love that picture of Jimmy with the RA.. wonderful!

Do either the natural or trans red LM5 have a one piece maple neck? Are either of them still available? If they aren't sold I may see if I can pick one of those up and not have to wait..

Just looked more closely... looks like the natural has a one piece neck (you can see the bullet truss rod adjustment thing at the top of the neck) and you can see that the body is wider than the trans red (assuming it isn't due to the angle!) by looking at the distance between the top of the body and the guard. The trans read looks like the 'original design', which is what I would personally prefer (Edit: See post below). Still just guessing, based on what I can see in the picture:

Wine Red has the bullet it just doesn't protrude as much. Also there is no cut out access at the neck pocket.

Aj

+1... didn't notice the non cut-out... that would be the best cue to a one piece. Cool. I guess that means the trans red also has the bigger body also... can't really tell from the photo.

Both very nice... but I guess for me the larger body and one piece neck with bullet (I remember hating those back in the day) would be a bit of a negative for me.
