Club Alleva Coppolo (Part 11!)

Just thought I'd continue the saga describing a severe attack of Alleva Coppolo GAS!

I have both my KBP5 and my Skjold up for sale and will keep the one that doesn't sell.

I really am fond of these basses and can't choose between them so I'll let someone else decide. I have the bass I want lined up and will probably get the money one way or another but really I should sell one of these if I would like to stay married..........!

I'm so hype right now! Should have tomorrow! Usually I don't like staying in, all day, on a Saturday, but waiting on FedEx will be worth it.

DIGLO...CONGRATS! im waiting for the FedEx man too..
for my DB751 and then the UPS man is bringin my KBP with DB board. i managed to snag that one too. VERY VERY STOKED ABOUT IT!

so heres a random but no so random question. Im trying to get our guitar player to make the leap to an AC strat or tele. I have a buddy who just got one and is OF COURSE..Raving about it...

Any of you have any experience with the guitars or know anyone that owns or has owned one. I imagine they are JUST as good as these AMAZING basses..we wrote jimmy and he only had a 60s Strat in stock ..i think my buddy might want a tele..

Any insight...i know..im asking as a bassist to more bassists..but hey WHO ELSE might know about AC guitars than the CRAZIES who LOVE AC basses!!

Thanks Guys!

Hey MikeX, my first AC is an early AC strat w/chambered body and it is amazing!
It has more sounds and nuance available than any gtr I have and I have a few nice ones.
It plays great as you would imagine. It is his website "Modern G" shown here:
http://allevacoppolo.com/guitars
All my gtr buddies who play it ask if I want to sell it!
Good luck and that last clip was great!

Thanks Mix...hoping my friend takes the leap. The guy makes a MIM tele sound AMAZING. I can only imagine an AC tele or strat!

I am lookin forward to Diglo's review once the Fedex man arrives!
I may venture into an LM in the LATER future but with a Rosewood board...possibly blocks and binding...Still has the 70s bite but no so bright as the Maple boards.

That's one of the first LM/RW I've seen. ENJOY IT BROTHA!!!

I went by the AC shop in the Uplands yesterday. Is the address right in the website? It seemed to be closed or do you have to make an appointment?

Thanks.

You need to call Jimmy first ... his schedule varies, but he'll make time to be around if he knows you are coming. I stopped by yesterday around noon, but called first.

Received my bass today. I'M LIKE A KID AT A TOY STORE! This bass is different from my LowEnd LEJ5, which is a great bass too. The AC gives me the vintage taste I've been looking for. I had a LEJ5 with same wood configuration, ash body & RW, but wasn't feeling it. So, I was praying I didn't get the same response from this one. But, it's totally different. I like the combo on this bass. Plus having the RW board, which I favor, smooth out the tone with the ash body. Sorry I'm not as technical as KJung, but this bass is GREAT! I think I'm Paul Turner now. LMAO!!!!
Also, I notice this bass has changed hands a few times, but this will be the last stop. So, look at it as being officially RETIRED!!

I was pretty sure you were going to dig this one... it should be more growly and meaty and aggressive than the RA we both owned (which also killed in its own warm, smooth way!).

That should probably do it for you. With that TecAmp rig... forget about it:bassist:

Post up a clip on your youtube channel when you get it dialed in!

Hey Everyone, I wanted to share some pictures from our upcoming tour rehearsals. Mike X was kind enough to lend me his LG5 for a few days to see how I liked it and I must say I LOVEd it. I am looking for one just like his and if one pops up I will for sure grab it. I'll be touring with my green "Willie Weeks" Alleva Coppolo as well as my 1965 Fender Jazz, 1965 Fender P and my little Asbury bass.

I will offer up either of my Allevas plus $$ for the right LG5 if anyone is interested.....

Anyway, I have included a few pics of my pedalboard and amp set up. I go from my board to my DB750 into a DB810 and to a REDDI to the FOH.

The GigRig8 pedal board controller is really great, let me know if you have any questions about it.

Enjoy!

I need to get one of those FullTones..
Just for slight OD at times.. I borrowed one fro a record i was doing and it worked great.. Instead i got a VTbass and a Bigmuff.. neither do what i needed it to do... Im not a pedal guy at all.. its bass>cable >amp
.. but that fulltone is a cool unit...
That and my octaver at times

It has only had (2) owners. I bought it from Jimmy in January of 08 and traded it to Chuck for a KBP5 last December.

Glad you like!!

I remember seeing this one before on Talkbass.
Anyone knows the current owner ?

And does this bass sounds like an AC LM5?

Appreciate your always "Inspector Gadget"replies !
