Wow, ash neck. I didn't know about that on that bass... I read the listing and thought maybe the guy didn't know what he had, which made me concerned about whether he "truly" owned it or not... was about ready to suggest a check with the police. :)

I remember seeing this one before on Talkbass.
Anyone knows the current owner ?

And does this bass sounds like an AC LM5?

Appreciate your always "Inspector Gadget"replies !

im sure others will disagree but i didnt find the ash to play that huge a role in the sound. it sounded like the other lighter lm's ive played imo.

Hello Vic

You're right ..Ash neck .
(:crying: Jimmy must have had a bad day ..
Tried to e mail the seller several times , no reply .

Guess i will have to place an order for a new AC
Personally, I like ash necks, so it wouldn't be a deal killer for me. Also, narud says he played it, and I'd trust his comments on its sound.

I think quite a few people have owned that particular bass. +1... all the reviews over the last couple of years describe it as basically an LM5.

That looks like my couch! Hey that looks like my bass! It is my bass...LOL! I sold this one to TBer dotcomee. I bought her new from Jimmy and as far as I know dotcomee still has her. I am not sure why the comment about her being owned by "quite a few people". I am also puzzled by the statement that "all the reviews over the last couple of years describe it as basically an LM5". I am not sure we are talking about the same bass because I bought it about 1 year ago (in Febuary 09 after the NAMM show I believe) as a new instrument. I could be mistaken but I don't think this bass was reviewed by anyone more than a year ago (maybe from some people who played her at the NAMM show in 09?) As far as I know there are ONLY 2 of these and Booker still has the other one. My sale ad has a lot of pics. I remember it as being more LM5 like than not but still not exactly the same. This one has a bit more mid punch than the typical LM5 and I think it is a bit more even in the top and bottom than scooped. Of course that is just my opinion and based on my recollections of her...THe buyer was great to deal with he bought the bass from me. Drop him a PM here to confirm if he is the seller. He is in the Austin area but he could have sold the bass locally for all I know.

GREAT bass and I would highly recommend it ESPECIALLY at $2500!! Good luck!

Yep, get a bunch of bass playing nerds in someone's basement, and this is what happens. The meetings start like so...

"Hi, my name is Gus.

"Welcome Gus!"

"I'm a bass player, and I haven't played funk in E for 6 weeks"

(Scattered applause)

"Would anyone else like to share about not playing funk in E"

And so on...

Let there be pics; no pics, no meeting. :hiding:

There were some LGs and RAs...
