Some people may like it and others not... I'll tell ya , the bass never neck dove while in sitting down position until i put it on.
I took it off a few months ago.. I dont feel I need it.
I think it made the G string a little more full sounding though. But not enough to bother with on that particular bass.

G&L's have never had the increase in valuation old first gen Fender and MM products did.
Dunno why.
Their street values have been more or less flat for years.
I got my first one in 1981, and have had one or two ever since...

Yeah, never caught on. I played a zillion of them when Gravity Strings was a dealer... nice, but always sounded like 'not as good' MM basses, which I think was the downfall of that line.. they didn't sound like MM and they didn't sound like Fender's, but their 'signature voice' didn't really speak to many (obviously).

Nice quality though, and beautiful basses if you dig the tone.

I'm kind of an oddball, probably.
I only have G&L's from the first 3 years, and they're all passive, and either single coil or have single coil as a coil tap on the humbucker loaded ones.

I never played an MM that spoke to me, and I've tried several times over the years.

I know this is our AC thread but since we were on the subject...

My REDDI just came in! Lookin forward to laying down some tracks with this piece! The case was a serious score.

:hmm:but i am surprised at how BIG it is...im not sure for how long i will travel with it. BUT i am goin to take it to give it a run on the road. im gonna take my JDI and this to see what works better for me. obviously the JDI is much more convenient since most if not all of our dates are fly dates.

i feel like its already christmas...:hyper::hyper:

Wow, are you planning to do a lot of high quality recordings of live performances? Otherwise, to be honest, your JDI is better than 90% of the backline I've typically seen provided, and probably sounds just as good as a REDDI in live mains.

Yeah man, I'd keep that jewel in the studio, myself, but I can DEFINITELY understand your excitement to have it and wanna' use it as much as possible... no doubt.
