I just got home.. Spent a few days out in CA.. was real nice and didnt want to leave..
Here are a few pics that were taken at the show of my new basses... Time to show them off a little..

I will try to take close ups later in the day... Just a bit tired right now.Also the Black bass and CAOJ are new 18 MM spacing..

There was an Alleva at the REDDI booth too.. I have to find the photo .
Peter had REDDIs set up to try with headphones or run through a rack of his Studio Preamps.EQ.Comps into a poweramp and 610 cab...

Man, that is just a perfect bass. Love the binding with dots... that always brings to mind those beautiful jazz guitars. That board looks great. Cool on the 'dinky' size also.. nice option for Jimmy to do.

Except the weight, any tonal difference can spotted between full-sized one?

I just got home a little while ago..
And played it without all the BPL noise.
It looks and was meant to be like my old 65ish.. and Jimmy nailed it..
Its light, and it sings..
The Sonic Blue one is killer too.. but this Dinky may be my favorite... I also had him cut away a little more on the treble side cutaway, so i can get my mitts in there... So it points a but more there.. which also is like my old 65 j..
Not one flaw on these basses... Really looking ahead to gig them...

I really couldn't EDIT: say to be honest with you.. It is perfect balance... Tonally it is also balanced from top to bottom...
This Dinky is the first Prototype.. and he will have more at NAMM.. Im am totally digging this..


It plays better than any other bass that he has made for me to date...
I had him cut the body smaller and get more wood removed from the Treble side cutaway so i can get my fat hands in there. and t works.

Slightly smaller size with a wider Treble side horn cutaway..

I really would like a lighter bass also without affecting the sound to much. How much lighter in weight is your Dinky 5 compared to the older model?

And will Jimmy continue this DINKY model if requested?

Yes.. This Dinky is the first one made and the prototype..It will be an option.. and more will be at NAMM... I will post pics tomorrow.
Since wood varies so much in density it is hard to say how much weight is saved...
This started with a real light piece of alder. And since Jimmy doesnt do any chambering it can be a real challenge to get them real light.
From what i remember of my other LG5, it is substantially less weight than my old Inca Silver LG.
I like the dinky size and the more open treble cutaway.. It works real nice for me. I will post more later today...

Mike Visceglia loved it. Daryl from Dunlop wanted me to sell it to him right there at the show... a well known Fender endorser (cant mention here) was dying to have this one ... Dont want to brag too much.. but this one is seriously good...

and i love the aged Olympic white.. Which Jimmy took a swatch from my 63 P bass and had that color duplicated.... I am not worthy!!! I am not worthy!!!

I guess you have the standard Hipshot 19 mm bridge and 19 mm AC pickups?

Thats would be cool.. but to clarify.. mine is 19mm on a dinky...

The other CAOJ and black bass that was at the Aguilar booth were full size with 18mm..
You could do 18mm on a dinky if you chose to though.
