Yeah true. Haha... The folks that demoed basses at the REDDI booth had the chance to use the Bobby Vega jazz bass through a REDDI and a super high end $$$ headphone amp. Quite impressive rack of gear they had. Reggie Hamilton had his fender amp there with A- Designs preamps , EQs, and compressors to wired into thepower amp section to demo the gear through a live bass rig. It is quite wide and studio like sound with pro gear like that. I think it got ALOT of guys thinking about how they could use studio gear in a live bass rig .. I will try for
Night night it's been al. Long day
Well if that's the case he can only play one at a time, so he certainly doesn't need both... :ninja:

I have, as well as heard one in a classic-ish mix at an after NAMM VIP party. It is ABSOLUTELY WORTHY!!!!! I'm telling you, you want an amazing classic tube bass tone, and you have the opps to get one of these on demo for a show, DO IT.

+1 That amp kicked butt (and won a BGM NAMM Show Award!).

Vic,
Thanks for the confirmation that the 65 Amps Apollo sounds good. Do you know if they make a higher watt head for bass? I think I saw that Al Berry had some different type of bass head from them.

At the 2009 Winter NAMM, 65 Amp had a prototype "King's Head" which was a higher power head, but they decided not to take it to production. It sounded fantastic, though, and there are a couple of them out there. :bassist:

The Bobby Vega bass is also at the REDDI A-Design booth for demos.

I recall playing a Bobby Vega model at Winter NAMM, and that bass really got my juices flowing! It reminded me strongly of a '60 (I think?) stacked knob Jazz Bass that John Files let me play once.

Well I am a candy apple red kind of guy BUT friends look at the Sonic ( Daphne ) blue...it is the only color other than gold I think that shows both pickups in their glory ??

Once in TAHITI I had a singer from NY drop to her knees (almost) when she saw the color of my Celinder as I was using the MTD5 I had had at the time a lot----and secondly here in my town a woman who knows her music did the same thing 2 years later !!! :hmm:

It was Daphne Blue.

THAT IS A HARD COLR TO BEAT...Period IMO ??????

I would have thought too that the CAR is an LM ? not an RA ?...but hey that is too close to call ( photo for finish ) AND THE other aesthetic that Jimmy has exclusive domain on, is that awesome 5 button control layout..that is simply stupid and that is before you even hear the darn thing !!:crying:

I traded a prized 72 Jazz for my LM5 babe and I never have regretted one glorious moment.
I grew up on Fender and Jimmy is the baddest cat in the land...wish I had had one 30 or so some years ago !!

Yo bro...VIC..did I make any errors this posting ?...was very busy please forgive me man and yeah the LG is cool but this week my LM knocked the LG5 out at a pops concert here in my hood..I was not there and that was the opinion of an usherette and the player himself ??:hyper:

Straight up.....:hiding:

The AC is the baddest preamp I have ever heard onboard and that includes an awesome PASSIVE mode that gobbles up virtually every Fender that I have ever owned.... GEESH !!! :eyebrow::eyebrow:

to each his own right ??:confused:

I ran my LG5 passive the Friday night.
This is the second time I've made myself do that...I generally don't do this with active basses, but dang if it doesn't sound great with this one.

Hey Lionel, I read on the Sadowsky thread that you just picked up a Tino Tedesco Jazz and thought it was great and one of the best(or best?) around.

Can you compare the AC with the Tino Tedesco Jazz?

Thanks!

Man, almost 4 days after BPL and no new pic's of the booth or players stopin by... What no A-C love, whatz going on

When BPL was held in NYC, we would always post some great shots and tell some cool stories... must be a NY thang...:ninja:
