I agree 100%...
Nope, it's more of a butter cream, and is a poly finish. It's an interesting bass - a little darker and meatier sounding than an RA, which is what you'd expect from the 60's pickup placement. It feels good in the hands, and is fun to play for sure.

I normally agree with you Joe but my 9.5 lb. Limited Edition ain't missing a thing, IMO and a few others.

Played for about 2 hours today at LowEnd BassShop! I think this is the best sounding AC I've played. Someone please buy it before I do????!!!!
I'm guessing this is more 70's sounding than an LG.
Would I be right? Would you describe it as a touch less sizzle with the P/U position?

I'm not sure about sound. It was fatter than I thought with maple board. The narrower neck was cool, real easy to play. I could thump on B string and sound solid, like thumping on E. Some bass sound like like crap when B is thumped. Great bass, just told it sold also. Man!!

ill be interested to hear your report on the bass. iirc your beef with the the nordy was it was a little too modern sounding? or at least moreso than you expected. id expect youll dig the lm 5 then since all the lms ive played were grindier.
i think im just a masochist with my 70's basses. i just put together a parts 4 string comprised of a 70's body, early 80's mij maple board neck, hipshot brass A bridge and the thing checks in at 12 pounds. its been my main bass lately.
and oddly enough i spec'd the lightest alder body possible for the replacement body on my 5 string that i broke in half from the other inland empire bass builder

Well, had I kept on with my original LM that I was working on for myself I think that may have been at least 11 lbs. Jimmy is actually filling another order with it and it's almost done. I'm curious to see the final results. My new baby has got me spoiled... Last weekend I played back to back 3 hour gigs on Fri and Sat and my shoulders were as comfy during the first tune as they were during the last.

i started lifting weights more and i dont feel any pain at the end of gigs at all. ive been gigging that 12 pound mutt and an 11 pound atk 5 a lot lately and havent had any issues.
