While that bass is indeed awesome, it's still not what I'm referring to...
I love the burst on that one, it's got the thin black edges... The pickguard has a goldish hue to the pearl as well... It matches the hardware nicely.

Very true. Here's me an my LG5 at our first gig together this past weekend. A really great instrument. It's hard to explain, but it just feels familiar. It's like having those old J basses that we grew up with -- but with a low B string added.

Yeah, the short version of my story is listening to Ken just absolutely gush about his new LM (bought from the NY shop), and I was kinda' like... meh.... ugly headstock too... whatever.
Fast forward to my interest being piqued by his continuing to gush, and similar stuff from others, and a RARE opportunity offered by a GREAT friend to check out a brand new LG Supreme, and another RARE opportunity to also check out an LM at the same time... literally back to back at the same gigs over about a week or two. I was like... "stick a fork in me... I get it... I'm done... gimme...". About 9 months later, my LG Standard arrived and it was EVERYTHING I remembered from that amazing Supreme. Great big lows and low mids without losing focus or coherence, superb "burp" when favoring/solo'ing the bridge, but without sounding boxy or nasal, a nice big round neck tone, much better clarity and presence in the high end than any other 60's alder/rw combo I'd played before, yet all the same wonderful smoothness that goes with that spec. It's really something!
It immediately earned FMCDH status.

It's sort of our schtick. All cover tunes (mostly love songs from the 70's and 80's) but played really well and while wearing disturbing masks!
People love it -- There's a market for everything.
