I have wanted one of those basses for a long time.. Is it in that Les Paul Gold?

Lol! I was waiting for the usual suspects to express their dislike for that one. For me, I dig that Jimmy is trying to step out a little; whether on purpose or by accident; I like how the basses still sound vintage but can have a modern look for someone looking for it.

On other news, the best part of my weekend wasn't A~C related per se... I won a raffle for an Epi Jack Casady sig bass!!! Jack drew my name, he signed it and even set it up the way he liked it and did a full demo of the features and then... He played it for me!!!!

Mine is black, which I don't mind at all. I took the guard off to preserve the sig, which I kinda smudged a little. It's a cool look without the guard too... I can see lots of uses for this one!

The funny part is I went to the booth to ask those guys if I could buy the pickup separate cause I wanted to use it for my Ibanez Artcore Hollowbody, that's when my wife convinced me to enter the raffle (something I never really do)... And what do you know!

Wow, great to hear your good luck!

Congrats Yohann, those look pretty cool.

That one is my fav so far... I'm tempted to trade my trans white LM for it but the fact that it's 18mm is stopping me. All of Jimmy's basses sound great in my opinion but every once in a while one stands out even more and this is one of them. The notes just seem to jump out of it. The finish is indeed Fbass-like but it wasn't meant that way. It was actually an accident and the result of a compromise between Jimmy and the painter... Beautiful!

My apologies if this has already been asked and answered but who does the finishes on Jimmy's basses?

ha! no way!!! he did it!!! Jimmy told me he was going to throw in the building 7 reference since he's a huge conspiracy buff like me who knows there was more to that equation then we were all lead to believe....but that's a whole other discussion....can't believe he did it that's awesome!

agreed though, most ppl prob wouldn't want a 9-11 conspiracy tribute on the back of their super expensive bass....

No thanks. Sorry if this sounds "unamerican" but I really would not prefer a tribute to 9-11 on the back of my $4k bass' headstock.

While not something I'd necessarily choose, a 9-11 tribute I'd be okay with. A 9-11 conspiracy though? I'd be more than a little unhappy to have that on the headstock of my bass. Is it going to be on all the new models?

Yo Jimmy much as I love you please leave the conspiracy tribute off my new KBP5. I would assume you're not doing this as a matter of course but OK'ing it with the customer before burning it on there. Don't mind the made by a NYC Italian bit, though. I thought the old image of the towers was OK without the secret reference.

+1...Looks like I will have to give him a call as well. Hopefully its not already done on mine.

In. And still fishing for compliments-

The white on white combo is amazing!!

Its fun for me to see Jimmy into this.. I was the "Conspiracy Researcher" my whole life... He never went for it.. But he is now hooked.. hahah.. I told ya so.. man!!! :D:D:D:D
I prefer Conspiracy researcher instead of conspiracy theorist..
Anyway, I like two tribute towers on my bass.. Jimmy was there that day.. i was talking with him on the phone immediately after it happened. He was telling me about our F16s flying over the city on that morning .. I was out of town then and on the road..

But i like my two towers on my basses more than the newer demo thing. Funny thing is , we are musicians and think of ourselves as open to many things but its funny how closed people are to different ideas others may have. anyway.. back to the basses....

I want him to do a laser imprint of a big middle finger on the back of my headstock...:D
