Had the LM out for three gigs this weekend with the Glock and Berg rig. It was smokin'! Kind of a shock after a couple years of playing the P almost exclusively. Fun change for a weekend. I did miss that fat 'fill up the mix' P thing, but I totally enjoyed that beautiful deep low end and upper mid grind and treble extension. Sounded great, and the three different bands all seemed to dig it!

It is an interesting voicing. I have a clip up somewhere. Unique combination of huge, warm, big low end and SUPER clean, hi fi top end. Nice! 'Moderns up' the LM a smidge, but in a good way. Friggin' hammer down low, and the Bergantino CN212 I was using has a nice midrange presence to punch up the wide and smooth Glock. Pretty potent little rig.

Man, the LM plays like butter. STILL haven't had to adjust the neck, going on 5+ years. Like a piece of granite. My other basses get their 'spring and late fall' tweak as the humidity changes up here in the North, but that thing is just ROCK solid. You can 'feel' it when you play it also.... ZERO compression on this bass. I continue to love it! My other J basses are long gone.

Sounds like you have a great one also!!!

I've played this one a few times - excellent bass. Great fretboard and a beautiful burst finish :)

+1 ... not cheap and take forever, but my TB LM5 build is SPOT on (LOVE the bullet ... different strokes) and the tone JUST KILLS!!!
Blocks and Bindings, 1 piece neck, PERFECT pocket....serious vibe, and my neck hasn't moved a bit, Dec. dry to June humidity.

Love mine. It's like a work of art -- and the neck hasn't move since it was shipped coast to coast.

And it sounds exactly like it looks - 70's JJ all the way.

Seriously, I've played several LM5s now including my own and Joels new LM5 is REALLY incredible. We got to chill for a couple of hours on a hectic Saturday and play with his really nice basses! Of all his Foderas and Allevas I left his house still thinking about his LM and I haven't really played mine since I got my Fodera Imperial....Jimmy really outdid himself on that bass!! And the one piece body is slammin!
