I'm not a super active bassist. I play about 30-40 shows a year, mostly bars and small venues. I do enjoy wine, especially with a good steak.

My intent was to pass on a good deal to those who may be interested in AC basses. The dramatically discounted price does, however have a secondary benefit: When this issue arose, you questioned my credibility and requested proof. Well, here it is. I have no ill will towards Jimmy or AC in this matter. I was made whole. Those two intents are not, however, mutually exclusive. I don't have anything to be "sour" about.

I'm not sure what my gigging schedule, alcohol consumption or "wedding" bands has to do with it. You've got your proof, and hopefully somebody here will get a good deal on a blem bass.

But then it is the internet and not the same as a face to face. May be different in real life.

30 to 40 gigs a year is more than I thought. From experience , I notice that many guys/ girls that get flustered to the degree that you were/ are, and then "brought your drama to a forum before speaking with the manufacturer" to air a grievance over such a minuscule finish issue, are USUALLY those folks that only stare at their gear and worship it's glistening glory instead of playing it out on gigs. 😇

Luckily I get to do a share of gigs or two, or three.
But I NEVER air dirty laundry from any manufacturer ( the ones i am blessed to work with or ones that i dont work with ) in a forum unless I the manufacturer has not helped me or is completely negligent.
I think that you went about it all wrong from the beginning. Didn't your mom teach you that you get more flys with honey.

PS if it were Genz Benz, MESA, Westone, REDDI or any other person that i work with. I would stand up for them just as i do for Alleva if dirty laundry was shared in a forum without FIRST seeking help or a resolution from the maker...

You know, with all the little passive aggressive digs you're taking, any tone you're detecting might be directed at you, not AC.

I'll leave this with two final thoughts:

1) I have no obligation to Jimmy, or any manufacturer for that matter, to remain silent about an issue until they have had a chance to resolve it. In this case, we aren't talking about some hidden, undisclosed issue. Rather, we're talking about an obvious, glaring finish that left his shop. He knew if was flawed when it left. I am under no obligation to spend weeks or months waiting for a brand new bass to return from the manufacturer as I wait for obvious issues to be corrected. I am his consumer and I have the right to discuss the issue as I please. It's not some failure with my upbringing, rather it's my prerogative as the consumer. And, having been a member here for over 7 years, I can say with authority that I've never correlated experience level with someones inclination to discuss an issue with a product. With a 2 year backlog and used basses trading at near 90% of new prices, I doubt my issue has had much of a damper on his business.

2) Jimmy sells a VERY expensive product. My mother (since you brought her into it) taught me a lot of things. One of them is to get what you paid for. When buying a Fender clone with a bolt on neck and a painted body......and spending $4000 on it....one expects it to be near perfect when it arrives. Whether I intend to stare at it while sipping wine, or play it in every grimy bar in Nashville (and as we've discovered, I do the latter) I have every right to expect that bass $4000 bass to be pristine when it arrives. My Sadowsky was perfect. My Lull was perfect. My Pedulla was perfect. My Lakland was perfect. Heck, even my new Fender was perfect. I hold AC to that same standard. Maybe you consider a $4000 bass that looks like it was buffed with a brillo pad to be acceptable, but most do not. Minuscule issues don't warrant over 25% price reductions.......

That's it. I do hope that someone here takes advantage of the bass at Corner. If I needed a fretless, I'd probably buy it myself.

I wanted to ask about this bass, but I didn't dare because I would have probably been trying to scramble the money together if I got any info on it. But now that it is sold, I would love to know how old it is and its weight?
