When I tried out the three LG's at BSD this Monday, I brought a laptop to record them direct and mix with a backing track. All of them instantly sit in the mix great before turning any knob on the bass. I would have bought one if one of them was 18mm TB model...
In regards to this, I'll just say that I'm not really a JAZZ BASS guy, but my AC EUT5 ALWAYS just WORKS! ALWAYS.
sits in the mix, EQs great. Punchy. Pretty much any strings I put on it... it just does the job, perfectly, every time.

Maybe partially because the US$ is strong and USFWS is taking a ridiculously long time to issue CITES permits for non endangered rosewood species. Obviously these factors don't apply to the US domestic market.
A KBP5? More EUTs?
I've yet to try an EUT or a Resurrection.
Maybe one day. As of right now, I'm happy with my two LG5s and they won't be leaving me. My Wal MK2 5 either.
First gig with new to me LG5 w CNL. Black sparkle nitro . Has succeed easily to my new #1. Paint looks cooler in person that pics can't capture! Like it much better then my last cs with DN. Tighter low end a little more articulate, with the exact dose of vintage warmth and midrange

Hoping my Alleva-Coppolo brothers on this thread can help me out.
I'm looking for a 'Tom Barney' [TB] model Jazz 5-string - w/18mm bridge spacing. Preferably – weighing 9.5 lbs. or less.
Please PM me if you have a TB model you are thinking of selling, or even if you just know of someone that might consider selling theirs.
As potential 'TB' trade bait – I'd possibly even reluctantly put up my sweet & killin' NYC-era LG5 with nitro CAOJ finish, in ex. cond.

I don't have a TB but, man does that LG look amazing. I had a smokin' CAO LG5 CS that I should never have sold... Still kicking myself!
Just a thought/ suggestion. I have put an 18mm bridge on a few standard Coppolos and it's worked out great. The TBs I've ordered new from Jimmy in the last several years were ordered WITH standard sized pups (longer than the TB pups by a hair) because I prefer the tone of those pups slightly compared to a few of the TB pup basses I've tried. The strings are so very slightly off center line with the pole pieces but it looks fine and does not affect the tone.
Plus, your NY era neck/nut is closer to TB in feel and size than the Cal basses so you are not far from TB. Plus the NY body is slightly smaller than the Cal basses and again closer to TB spec (which was derived by making specs smaller than the Cal basses, not the already diminished NY basses).
That said full TB neck spec is a bit narrower than any of them, just closer to the NY than Cal spec.

Yea - it's absolutely the slightly narrower neck width spec that I'm after with a TB model - even more so than the 18mm spacing.
To me - there'd be no benefit to having a standard width 19mm neck, and throwing on an 18mm bridge.
Anyone out there needing cash and wanting to sell off their Tom Barney Jazz 5-string - or possibly even trade one for my 19mm LG5?

So last night, I watched SNL S44E05 and James Genus wasn't there with his trusty mid-90's Fodera but, the bass tone was awesome!
So I took my KBP4 apart this weekend for a little cleanup before installing a new set of TI Jazz Flats.
BRW slab on 59 neck shape and a "C" nut width.
