Club Alleva-Coppolo (Part 21)

Today is the 6th years old birthday of my LG5!
Got this bad boy almost 1 year from the original owner.
Sound better everyday!

Hey guys, I haven't been posting much since most of my time is consumed with not sucking at the contrabass, but I did cut an EWF track with my LG5 about a year ago where I slapped the verses (just got the mix). Even though she's alder/rosewood, I think she sits well in the mix, providing enough bottom for dancing while allowing for enough midrange cut, so I'm not invisible behind 7x2 horns. Slapping isn't really my thing and the mix is pretty chaotic, but what the hell? I love this bass, she's #74.

That was fun. LG's slap tone has always been very cool IMO ... my new TB LG5 CS included.

Regarding NY era basses, I have an RA with the older body style thats an earlyish 2009..so there is a transition period in there. The "newer" body style does have other small details that I actually like better; slightly thinner body, slightly thinner headstock, slightly shallower pocket, and a revised headstock shape. All these things are a plus for me.
From what I saw, and from having my new one, the build quality coming from Jimmy now is as good as my former 2007 LG5 ( which was great).

Looking forward to what he has going at Bassacre.

We're on the floor, in front of the stage, which is up and behind. See the stairs rioght behind me; they go up to the stage there...
You can kinda see out Bose stick, and a couple mic stands up there.

It's probably a 150 people or so club, packed full. We probably had 80 or so in there for happy hour. So; not terribly large.

Hey folks, I am in Los Angeles with Jimmy Coppolo right now. There is an event location change coming for the Alleva-Coppolo BASSACRE this April 5. STAY TUNED FOR LOCATION CHANGE INFORMATION and if you would like to pass the word to everybody that would be helpful. When Jimmy's web person comes in he will update the website and Facebook page with new info.
