Alleva-Coppolo gurus, could you help on the AC question please? Is there tonal difference between 6571 series P-bass and KBP5? I'm looking for a good lightweight 5 string P-bass and the 6571 looks good from price tag perspective. And is the body size the same?What I like about KBP5 is that it's small-sized-bodied P. Hope there's no neck dive caused by small body, right?

The 6571 P5 should sound just great, its the classic alder body/rosewood board combination and that one looks like a winner. I have a KBP5 Standard and its great, same wood combination. The bodies, however, are NOT small, they are in fact larger than a standard 4 string P to be more in proportion to the wide neck. They are slightly less deep front to back than a standard 4 string P.

I got to hear one of these basses a couple of nights ago. Whatever a bass is supposed to do to for the music or listener, this bass did. It helped that the guy playing it could play. I suppose he could have done nearly as well with a Squier Affinity or SX, but his tone nearly made me melt. My own talent, chops, interest in playing or finances would not allow me to justify having an Alleva-Coppolo bass, but I can see and HEAR why you guys play and love them.

People of all stages in their playing can have one. He has a less expensive model the 6571 which just hits it out of the ball park at a lower price. Ive played a few and i would gig it in a second
