Hey, just wondering, what's the foam (?) under he D and G string for?
Is that for muting odd resonances happening behind the nut? Any noticeable difference?

Really glad this bass found a good home. Loved this one, but the trade deal was a win-win imho (thanks Chris)! If this LG5 had had a 1.75" nut width, you would have had to pry it out of my cold dead hands. ;-)Yeah. There really isn't any better than that LG5 aka Thor.
I thought I had pics of the last Bassacre raffle bass (which is still owned by its winner and gigged as his primary, I'm happy to say), which was a KBP4 in Fiesta Orange with a reverse pickup and maple cap fingerboard, but I guess I don't have any
Instead, I'll post some shots of KBP5s we used to have (one in Fiesta Red)!

Colors from top to bottom: Fiesta Red (matching headstock, neck, and pickup)
Still loving this bass. I believe it's dakota red, though. Fiesta is a bit more coral colored
You are absolutely right! I misspoke. We just called it the Big Red P-Bass in homage to its original owner.
Congrats @bassballs27 on Thor--I remember that bass and I really loved it--though not as much as my Incredible Hulk (not really an appropriate name as it's light and has a slim neck profile, but it is green, and Hulk's an Avenger!).
@svtb15 and everyone else, thanks for the love for Jimmy after his injury. If he hasn't heard/read it already I'll make sure to pass on the good vibes. And just to reassure people, he hasn't stopped working! He's doing what he can with his busted paw--which includes work that isn't muscle-heavy or extra-fine--and I'll tell you guys what I reminded him: John Coltrane recorded his Ballads album with a broken right hand! So he's in a special club now.
I've been slacking so hard on photos, because I've meant to take a family photo of my two amps, my Sadowsky, and my new LG5 (the perfect bass for me) to post on here. I have, however played it every damned day since getting it (until this weekend when I had to go out of town), and I even have brought it to work most days even though I work in bass heaven. It's just so satisfying to bond with an instrument so quickly and so strongly.
Much love to Jimmy and the AC club!
Awesome! I loved that Dodge Dart Green LG, but mine was the Surf Green LG. It is my favorite bass ever. None more to say! (Really I do like to talk about it though!)Nice! Thanks George.......I'd bet The Incredible Hulk is nothing shy of Incredible! Is it the Dodge Dart Green LG5 CS with the CNL board, that what one looked killer......the latest AC you posted recently look amazing too. That Black LM5 with the Torrefied Maple fretboard is very interesting. By the way, I love the straps I picked up from you guys way back in May of last year. The comfort strapp makes my Wal MK2 5 that weighs 11.5 lbs feel like nothing! And the wide Levy's strap is fantastic too. Thanks again for the BSD T-shirt too! I wear it with pride up here in Ontario, Canada.

George, if you have a pic of the black one post that too.....![]()
I think this was the biggest pain in the rear to photograph I've had since using our current setup. The color is effectively black in sort of low, indoor lighting showing generally a touch of green, so most straight on photos without any annoying glare look black with just a bit of green undercurrent and ghosting around the contours. So getting the green to visibly come out and then getting more photos showing the blue (which really does go super-saturated cobalt blue at extreme angles) was a long task.Green/Blue Sparkle Flip Flop... Just saw this one !
