Super nice collection of very fine basses there. You are "bursting" with sun.......Nice....3 Sunbursts..How compelling.
I was able to check out the new ACs listed on the BSD site last week at Jimmy's shop...that surf green was pretty killer. The guys at BSD asked me to rate the new basses but honestly I cant pick a clear winner out of the ones that are left....they are really consistant. I may have had a bit of an affinity for the orange one by a hair?BTW, when I was at the store I checked out the spanish cedar LG5 still for sale and I dont know why its still there , it def a winner.
Nice, thoughts on the lightweight green one w/roasted maple board?

I was actually torn about putting that one up on the site! It's actually... ahem... mine. I'm so in love with it that I've taken it to work every day this past week! I was planning on posting more photos, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. But until I do, here she is on the bench!
I remember you said you had a Surf Green being built for you, congratulations!
Is that a Brazilian board? Either way I'm sure it's got some mean throat and growl to it.

Thanks! It's really well balanced; nice grisly texture in the mids, enough brightness in the attack for a nice slap sound, and enough bottom for a great fingerstyle and palm-muted sound. The fingerboard is CNL rosewood. I picked the neck out at Jimmy's a while back, and honestly if he had told me it was Dalbergia nigra I'd have believed him. They really can be close to indistinguishable. I'm a sucker for really reddish, strong grain rosewoods, and dark dark chocolate (nearly black) rosewoods, so it definitely rang my bell.

The other one not for sale lol.....black. But I really liked the newest batch you got in , maybe the orange one and the gold? They were all so close really...too close for clear winner imo. CNL is killer.
That's awesome George. And that's a nice pic of your guitar when it was in process. You're so fortunate to be relatively close to Upland. I wish I had the chance to hold my bass when it was being built.
And CNL, it's an awesome Rosewood both in tone and looks. In my recent experience, I actually think it sounds quite different than Dalb. nigra but they're both great sounding. I don't like one's sound more than the other.
But man, that Surf Green!

I should post a pic of the black one. I'm normally not that into black as a finish, but that one... man, it looks killer. I think it's because it has the matching headstock, super dark bound fingerboard, and pearloid dots that just make it. The devil's in the details, as they say.
Presenting "Thor".....the Mighty God of Thunder....aka....a 2016 AC LG5 Classic Supreme I got in trade recently.
The previous owner beat me to buying this bass off of Bass San Diego earlier this year.
Interesting how fate turned out this way. Something tells me I'm supposed to own this one.
I would likely to thank Mr. Mitch Starkman (basses55) for setting this bass up and making it magnificent.
The SUPER Low B on this bass is like no other bass I've EVER touched......hence the naming of "Thor".
This bass will be a permanent part of my collection......
I also met Jimmy in person in Uplands back in May 2016 and got a quick tour of his shop.
It was an amazing experience and Jimmy is a very cool guy. One of the best builders on the planet!

I spoke with Jimmy this week. He broke his hand,, he had surgery the other day to put 4 pins to hold the bones in place. .. Bad week

Yeah. There really isn't any better than that LG5 aka Thor.
