The eagle has landed. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy
It plays like a DREAM right out of the box, with a good 1/2 turn on the truss rod (it was very loose... maybe Brian ships that way).
It is quite different from my LM in that it has the shiny poly neck/fretboard finish (and of course, the alder body). So, it does sort of sit between my LM and LG.... sizzlier and MUCH more aggressive than the LG (as it should be), and a bit fatter and growlier than my very bright LM (as I guess it should be also).
The CAR is very beautiful, and has much more 'candy' in the color (don't know how else to describe it... a bit of burgandy or even purple maybe) versus the color as it looks in the pictures above.
Finally, I LOVE whoever this collector is. Man, the plastic is still on the guard and backplate, and the strings are still fresh. This thing is literally new.
Gosh I LOVE these basses. It's cool that each of my three sound and feel quite different, given the different body woods, board, pickup placement and neck finish. I like them all for what they are. I'll get this beauty out on a gig this weekend and see what she does.

Is the neck profile the same as your other basses? Man I really love the fairly shallow C profile which seems to be his standard from what I've played.
The profile feels identical to my other two. This bass was 'cut' in New York and assembled in CA. I'm not sure if the CA necks are different (never played one), but this is identical.
Man, his finishes (neck and body) are just stunning.
The only thing I notice that is different is that the lollipop tuning keys are a large size than on my other two.
First of all, congrats on the new bass! That CAR finish is truly beautiful. With these basses, the beauty is in the simplicity and attention to detail. But you still have to get a P bass...

I would not assume the profile changed from site to site. I was only asking in case maybe this model might have a different neck profile as part of what makes it what it is. I'm actually glad he seems to be using the same neck profile on all his models. I really dig it!

Thanks. Yes, my LM has a satin poly, while this bass has the 'shiny poly' (which I think is 'standard' on the RA models). Both feel great. The 'feel' of this bass reminds me a bit of my Celinder Update (which also had that shiny poly finish on the neck and board), and this bass is also a touch heavier than my LM and LG (although not even close to the boat anchor status of the Celinder Updates I had).
