You ain't ready bro...That is about the best way to decide if they are right or not but if like OLD sounding Fenders that play and feel REALLY GOOD.....Let us know what you think!

There I feel better now. I'm off to roll change so I can have one of these beauties too!

Seriously, these things are works of art. So far this is the only other bass brand to give me as much GAS as Sadowsky.

Vic, I would advise you not to listen to T when it comes to testing out basses for their "keepability". If you hold yourself to his standard you may end up buying and selling Jaco's "BoD", Wooten's YinYang Fodera, Jamerson's "FunkMachine" one of Stanley's AND one of Entwistle's Alembics, and Paul's Hofner...all the while never satisfied!

Tommixx, you sell more basses than my local Guitar Center.

We have discussed the severity of our illness in depth numerous times and have come to the conclusion that neither if us are treatable with the current levels of technology. We have resigned ourselves to the fact we will continue on this path until there are no more basses we covet or we are completely broke whichever comes first! I do have another 3TS AC on the way and I am eyeing a Sadowsky that I don't think I will be able to shake...

Bah! T, I love you man and I understand your disease, but I still can't believe you sold that 3TB 4 string! My god...there is some philosopher (can't remember the name from Philo101) who's big idea was that in our minds there was a perfect example of every phenomena, like when we think "apple" we are invoking that one perfect apple out there, somewhere. Well, that 3TB 4 string, in my mind, is the one perfect example of "Bass Guitar"...and you sold it!!! EGAD MAN! LoL. I'm rambling.

I personally have mild flareups with my case of the disease as I just bought a PERFECTLY CONSTRUCTED American Vintage '57 Reissue P Bass today from guitar center (A symptom that has remained dormant for 11 years or so). So, I'll be flipping the Sad. PJ you sold me earlier this year. :hiding: It's weird but I just don't play that PJ hybrid like a true Precision, what with the jazz neck and ballsy sad. preamp. I find I need a real nitro P neck in my hands to let the passive P vibe wash over me and influence my playing.

I'd have bought an KBP4/5 but when you find a great one, you go for it. Hope I don't flip this one in a month! lol

I know what you mean! Unfortunately I HAD to sell the 3TS as part of my Separation Agreement. I had to sell everything I acquired while I was married as retribution for selling my dad a bunch of vintage stuff for a really good price. I can't even buy the stuff I sold back for a period of one year...I have never heard of anything like this in my life but my lawyer told me to do it so they would not go after a bunch of other stuff like my muscle car collection! I would hate to sell those cars, my uncle left them to me a few years ago but she did not care. She wanted to sell them all to the highest bidder!

So I played my AC KPB-4 at church last night. The yellow racing stripe is a hit. I don't know if I can part with it after the compliments I got, but I may eventually try and track down an AC jazz if someone would rather have a P.

In any case, it sounded amazing and the drummer loved the tone enough to mention it multiple times.

Yeah, I know what their vibe is, it's cool. Like I said, I've been talking to Jimmy off and on now for probably at least a year. :)

I recommend just getting the pre amp in a pedal.
Less hassle, same effect ... and you can use it with other axes.
It's the same price installed or in a box ... $350, i think ... double check with Jimmy.
I have one and used it when I had a KPB4 once upon a time.

I'm officially jealous. Make sure you gig your ash/ash/walnut MTD too so that you can compare to the rest!!:D

Good point on being able to use an outboard with other basses. I still might like the onboard possibility, but I can live with either probably. My main use of the KPB-4 for the next few months (until gigging resumes) will likely be at church and the mix there isn't always the world's best when it comes to bass. I can sometimes get lost among the guitars so I've always played active basses there, which helps alleviate that issue because of the boost it provides.
