I wouldn't mind something similar to the Ernie Ball wheel, although Cliff recently changed the to a larger Allen size.

Back to short/medium scales, the basses still need to maintain the same ratios of construction to avoid neck dive. I find a lot of short scales to simply be a guitar with a bass neck. Sure, the neck dive generally isn't as bad as something full scale, but the left hand grip can really slow things down.

Would like to add that the new trust rods are very nice! Can't even be compared to the old ones.

Def like the direction some of these new ideas are going. Have to agree with all the input about a dedicated 32 inch scale bass body with a neck that has hardly any neck dive.

Sorry I haven't been around too much guys. I got a new job July 1 and have been working like crazy for the past two months.

Cliff, excellent work, as always.

I have decided that I WILL own another CB sometime soon. I have been missing them, but my own limitations made me sell both of them. The tone on the yelowheart bass that I had was the best bass tone I've ever had, so I will do something similar, but different.

It will probably be the last bass I buy for a long time, but it will be great.

New bass day, today!

I just put down my first and new CB. Played 4 hours straight.

it's a rami 4 string, ash body, koa top, walnut/flamed maple back. modern neck, morado fretboard, big singles and nordy 3 band preamp...

WOW!!! the woodwork is amazing, honnestly i had an american MTD before and you could tell it was handmade...I wouldn't be surprise to learn that Cliff as a cnc machine hidden somewhere in his shop, the precision of his work is absolutely the best i've seen.

The wood itself is really high quality + you can feel your instrument vibrating a lot...

the tone is amazing, the big singles with the modern neck bring a great growl...this bass sing.

The 3 band nordy preamp is musical, effective and transparent, but i would personnally change 2 things (that's very personnal) i prefer vol-vol instead of vol-blend (my fault i order the preamp this way) i would get a 2 band preamp, i'm no good with mid control...

the rami feels perfect, it's light (8 lbs) it balance perfectly when standing or seating there's no neck dive + the neck is smooth and fast.

Cliff you are the man! Great Job! I love my bass...

Glad you're enjoying it. Can't wait to see pics!!!

Haven't done much with planning the 32" scale fretless 7 at this point, but looking at adding Midi to the fanned fretted 7. Kinda wanted the Neuser bridge to get a pseudo fretless sound, but it's unknown if it's being made any more. While sounding very nice, it doesn't seem to be getting great reviews.

Have you seen the Ghost midi system by Graphtech? It's compatible with the A-style bridge that Cliff uses and looks much neater than the Roland system. It's also used by serious dudes such as Gary Willis :bassist:
