Cliff and I emailed back and forth yesterday quite a bit. I've decided to go with 34-scale, for a couple of reasons. First, .125 is ridiculously close, almost to the point where setting the intonation or adjusting the truss rod could void a straight install of the strings without shaving silk. Second, the availability of 34 vs 35 flats is just too disproportionate to be ignored. I've played TIs for close to five years now, but I've got a lot of mileage left on my fingers, and you never know when you'll want to try something new. Also, the Extra Long TIs (at 40" ball -> silk) are too long. Finally, and I found this surprising, Cliff said that he doesn't receive a lot of requests for flats on 35-scale. I don't know if that statement reaffirms the fact that I couldn't find a ton of brands/sets to choose from, or if you guys simply don't dig flats. I do. Very much so. But I'm going to stick by the majority of people that say Cliff's B(s) are the Bee's Knees wrapped in the Cat's Pajamas.
