Club Bordwell Part 3

Hi, after some back and forth I decided to offer my fretless Rami 5-string (yes, the one with the great walnut top). Before I put it up for official sale, I´d like to ask you guys in the Bordwell forum if anybody is interested. It´s in immaculate condition, as I don´t use it in the band and have to admit that I´m simply no fretless-player.

Neck shape: Jazz
Width at nut: 1.875
Bridge: 19mm
Body thickness: 1.625(required for Push/Pull knobs)

Construction
Neck: Wenge with Maple veneers
Fingerboard: Black Ebony
Nut: Stabilized Ebony
Full faced top Yes

Body woods
Top: Walnut(pictured below)
Accent veneers: Ebony
Core: Ash (Swamp-Ash)
Back: none
Headstock Plate: same as top

Hardware
Color: black
Bridge: Hipshot style “A”
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralites
Truss rod: two-way adjustable
Fretless – see notes below
Strap locks - Dunlop
Output: 1/4" Side mount

Electronics
Pickups: Nordstrand Jazz NJ5SE – soapbar plastic covers(exposed poles)
Preamp: Aguilar 3-band with active/passive switch(push pull)
Controls: Volume/blend/passive tone/T/M/B + mid-freq. switch

Let me know, if you´re interested. I´m sure we can work out a good deal with the weak Euro at the moment.

That's a very nice bass. Why don't consider converting her to a fretted version? I'm sure Cliff can handle that :D

For sure he can. But I already have a great ash-bodied 5-string as my current main fretted bass (Lefay Hr. Schwarz). 4-string is covered with my other CB, so I´m trying to raise some funds for either a CB 6-string 32" scale or a 1969 jazz.

Hey, I have a Le Fay Herr Schwarz too! She's my main 4 string. Looking for funds for a 32" headless CB someday. Can't wait to see how TapyTap's headless will come out.

Anyway, good luck on the sales :)

I can't wait to see how it comes out either, but first I have to order it! ;)

I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I have a headless in the works...I was merely quoting "The News" from Cliff's site! The headless that Cliff is working on belongs to basssalad.

Sorry for all the confusion. Not on purpose though :D

Hey, basssalad, going with the "string through" and head-piece clamp on the backside is ingenious! I've heard stories about Hipshot's headless headpiece being stripped off by the sheer tension of the strings, due to the poor mounting on the headstock. Installing it on the backside actually will "pull" the headpiece to have a firmer grip on the headstock.

Cliff's "headstock" is an art too :smug:

I asked Cliff if we could do something different than I've seen with the Hipshot headpiece. I thought the ETS and other headpiece's looked more elegant. It was Cliff's idea. Still trying to imagine what it will look like! Never heard of those horror stories of the headpiece popping off!
I'm so psyched about this bass!
The tops look amazing! Each bass is going to be very different!

Regardless of headstock variations, I would love to see more photos of Cliff's instruments! Specifically, I would really like to see pictures of the entire bass as a whole...front, back, and sides. :cool:

There are some really great pictures, but it seems that there are fewer shots of the entire length of the bass.

In a few weeks, when i get mine,I promise to post a "Full Monty."

Getting close. Only another 3-6 weeks until the, "end of November/beginning of December."
