It ships on Monday. According to UPS charts, I'll get it the next day in my office. I may have to bribe the UPS man to make me the first stop that day and cancel all mid-morning and afternoon patients.

I just got it at my office just over an hour ago. I haven't plugged it in yet, but it plays great! Such low action without any buzzing, and acoustically, it sounds beefy, yet firm.
I'll take and post better pictures most likely Thursday.

Some updates for the Bordwellians!
I had the signature bass at a recording session at Chicago Recording Company yesterday and everybody was freaking out about how great it sounded. The engineer said he did nothing but take a DI from it and run it thru the pre on the mixing console, and it sounded great. We were demo-ing some $5000 ridiculously awesome reverb unit for the GC Pro website... so I should have a video up of that relatively soon.
In the meantime, here is a short vid of my buddy Joel and I playing a little jazz ditty. CB TS sig model and Markbass F1 and 1x12= Love!
Also, got my Zebra bass back from Cliff a few weeks back. He fixed my truss rod issue and did an awesome job. A pretty ingenious solution in my opinion. It's also sporting a nice, new ebony one piece ramp/pickup cover now (I figured it would be a little more durable than the zebra wood) . Unfortunately, once I got the bass back from Cliff, I came to find that the bridge pickup was not working correctly. Brought it into my tech, he found the problem. I sent it back to Nordstrand and they fixed it at no charge. I gotta give some props to both Cliff for his patience during the truss assessment and repair process and Nordstrand for their excellent customer service with the pickup. You can really tell the quality of a company and of individuals not when everything goes right, but when things go wrong.
Now to get cracking on those demo videos!!!!

The headless should be arriving on Thursday! Paid extra for 3 day delivery. Has to make it all the way to Portland Oregon! Congrats on your new bass! The walnut is purty!
Tim, glad all your basses are back in action. I'm a jazz bass fan myself! This headless SCB 5 has Nordstrand big singles in the 70's pu spacing. Ash body and an aggie 3 band. I also have an A/P switch with passive tone. The passive tone only works in passive mode so I'll have 2 completely different EQs with a flip of a switch. I'll probably use it in passive most of the time. It definitely won't look traditional though :^)

First off. Thanks for all the compliments. I appreciate it. I had to call Cliff today to thank him for his fine work.
I find this bass is so much easier to play than others I've had and played in the past. The 32" scale, lower action and 19mm string spacing seem to be ideal for me. I found myself floating around the fretboard more easily. I'm not much of a slapper, but I found it easier to slap and pop as well.
I plugged it in my Eden Metro combo and it sounded great. Tonight I played it at rehearsal. Once again, great.
I will have a learning curve with this bass. The bass is more compressed than I am accustomed to. I'm not sure if it is the 32" scale, Walnut top and back, Bubinga piece in the neck or the Nordstrand MM and J pickups, but the bass is more focused than I'm used to. During rehearsal, I played around with the knobs and switch. Increasing the bass, keeping the mids at neutral and cutting the treble a little bit, gave me the big, yet well defined, bottom I like so much. It cut through the mix and kept the bottom end nicely.
Right now, I could not be happier with Cliff's fine craftsmanship on my bass. This is a bass for life. Living only two hours from Bass Central, I've had the opportunity to try many MTDs, Foderas, Elricks, Spectors, Sadowskys, Wals, Modulus, Alembics, Ken Smiths F Basses and other boutique basses. I believe that Cliff's fine craftsmanship is right up there with all the builders I've mentioned. He is one of the finest bass builders on the planet; quite possibly the finest. Perhaps I'm in the honeymoon period, but I have no desire for any other bass available on the market--production or custom ordered. Well, except for the fretless Cliff is going to build me next. But that's an update for another day.

And. I've had two people tell me they liked the "musical note." They were referring to the shape of the upper horn. I never saw it that way, but I guess we all see different things.

Cliff put Curt Mangan strings on it. I'm not sure of the gauges. As far as the nut width, I'd have to measure it, but it is his standard for a five string. The neck shape is what he calls a D shaped neck. It feels very comfortable. It's not a baseball bat and not too thin.
Nice. How does the case work? Can you get a pic of it next to a "normal" bass?
I'm leaning towards headless for my next one. Kinda flip-flopping on scale length again. I was thinking since balance isn't an issue with all the tuners gone that perhaps Cliff and I can shoot for an insanely low body weight.
