This will be the first CB bass with a Dymonwood fingerboard.
Dymonwood is very similar to Phenolic, which I use to work with on occasion when I was a machinist. Besides being hard and stable, it's biggest asset is how great it sounds for a fretless.

Plus, it's virtually indestructible when it comes to durability and it doesn't move with humidity changes.
I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but isn't that what people said about carbon fiber necks as well? And still, from what I've gathered from/on these forums, people still say they need adjustments as the season change (talking 'bout necks of course, not dymondwood fingerboards.)
My Conklin's fingerboard has taken many years of roundwound abuse and looks brand spankin' new. No exaggeration. It also has barely moved at all since I got it.
Virtually indestructible yes, but I've had to slightly adjust the neck twice a year on my Roscoe with the Dymondwood finger board. Less than other basses, but it needed to be done twice a year.
Cliff, I'd love to see you develop your own instrument hardware! With your machinist background, luthier skills, and eye for detail, I bet it would be superb!
