Club Bordwell Part 4

IMG_4183.jpeg

Well, I just put this beauty up for sale. I got another CB 4 string coming in a week, so I am making room.

Here is the link if anyone is interested.

This bass sold this weekend and is going to another great talkbasser!

With that said, I have my new CB bass coming in the mail this week as well.

Here is a sneak peak.

That's yours?! Ridiculously beautiful. Congrats.

What's the pickup? And also tell me about that board, I have birdseye maple down at the moment but that is something else.

It has a Nordstrand BigRig bridge, with a mute switch installed.
The board is Stabilized Quilted Maple

This is funny because my other fretless CB bass has a Stabilized Maple board on it.
Here is my 15 year old fretless always played with rounds Stabilized Maple board.

Very tough stuff!

Super cool. And stunning all around.

I'd be really interested in sound clips if that's something you're into, as single bigrig is currently on my sheet.

Also gave me the idea I could ask for a maple pickup cover.
Thanks!
I think this new bass even comes with quilted maple knobs.
Send me a private message with your instagram account if you got one. I've sent sound clips out that way before, but they're just off of my iPhone 15 which actually takes pretty good sound quality videos.

I have a pair of big rigs and a piezo in my CB fretless. The neck pickup with some piezo blended in is amazing sounding. It sounds great with just the neck pickup. Hard to tell how similarly my neck pickup spacing is to that single pickup, especially since mines a 30".

That bass is so freaking beautiful!
Man… I need more short scale basses. I've already spoken to Cliff about starting another build.

The original BIG McNeely fretless bass is now for sell…

This might have something to do with the "why it's for sell".

It boggles my mind how someone could even build that. That is objectively more beautiful than Fodera, F bass, Spector etc imo. Just awesome.

Also boggles my mind how you could already be considering another build?! If i just got that in the post I'd lock myself away with it for a year.

Question for the group…
My new CB bass has a side input jack, which is a first for me. I like to sit on the couch and play in my office, and my angled Monster cable keeps popping out.

Can someone recommend another brand cable that has one angled end?
The Monster cable's entire plug casing seems to be too large I guess.

Thanks!

The Fender Deluxe Cables are pretty low profile, I have Monster Cables too, and they probably sound better, but the Fenders are just fine for every day stuff >>

Failing that, there are lower profile jacks out there, so you could perhaps get a cable made up to suit?
I have some custom cables at home, in the loft somewhere which have very small right angled jacks, the jacks are by Amphenol and they're smaller than the more common Neutrik ones >>

Hope that helps and congrats on another awesome bass!
