Club Bordwell Part 4

I was overdue for a new family portrait. 4 30"ers and a 34". All between 6.5 and 7 pounds.

The second from the right is the one fretless in the bunch. My current fave is the new one. Second from the left. Multicoil pickups and underhill resonant filter preamp. Amazing tonal versatility.

They all play and sound great though.

Thanks all im absolutely stoked.

Few more pics here. Then off to play the thing

3 weeks or so since taking delivery of this and it is by far and away the most incredible instrument I've ever had the pleasure of playing. So effortless and musical. The TI jazz rounds are complementing it perfectly, the upper register just sings. And the bigrigs are great, everything from a somewhat-single coil P growly bass tone, through to a fat Jaco burp.

Incredibly happy customer.

I thought the BigRigs were good until I heard a recording of me using them live. Then I was amazed. They're really, really good.

Awaiting my next order coming later on this year from Cliff.
It will be a 32" 6 string fretted BIG McNeely double P bass! I think it starts after this next build.

It will include both sets of the Nordstrand non-blade pickups and Nordstrand 3 band.

And then maybe a new shape that Cliff and I have been discussing for a fretless 4 next year.

Do the SCB Ps have the same pickup?

No, the Mac Ebony one has my favorite P bass pickups - Lindy Fralin 5% overwound pickups. They take awhile to get use to because they are so thick, but man they are my favorite now for a rosewood board.

The tulipwood bass has Fender Professional 1 pickups in them. They are surprisingly some of my favorites for maple boards.
I think they are the original V mod pickups. The second V Mod pickups are awful.
