I'm leaning towards the D because it's not offset like the S and I like the bottom horn that curves up. I want this one to be a bit more understated than my Ball-McNeely 6-ers, so I'm going to not have the topwoods be as elaborate, either.

Well, I'm back in the queue. Last fall I lost my job. This February I got a new one making quite a bit less. My wife and I sat down with the financial planner and figured out the new retirement savings plan and household budget. Looks like I can resume my bordwell plans after all. Have a single piece mango top with dagstar pickups and roasted maple neck coming up in my next build. Very excited.

I love that bass. Beautiful. Gorgeous top. Bordwell single cuts are my faves. I have 4 with 2 more in the back log...

I'm loving my SCB right now. Finally logging some ime on the fretless. Starting to develop some ability to play it in tune. It is a joy to play.

Not that I need to rub his nuts anymore than I already have, but Cliff is really the only one I know that does a good looking single cut shape for a 4 string. Not even Fodera manages that.

Nice!!! I love the tone of Padauk, and had a whole body made of it in the mid 90s..weighed about as much as my 1993 Miata! I am sure in the neck it will add definition, punch and low mids. Add in mahogany, and you will never, ever be buried, 100%! Speaking for many (I am sure), I am looking forward to seeing it come together!

I really dig the tone I get from my Gibson from its Mahogany body.

One of my CB basses in the past had a maple neck with a Paduak one inch center stripe. It felt really good.
I also had an Ibanez 6 string bass that had so much Paduak that it felt and sounded killer! I really miss that bass.

Great minds think alike. My next CB is also going to have a Padauk and Wenge neck.
