A whole bunch of folks recommended I try the Nordstrand preamp (btw. its Tom's standard offering). Great sound and more usuable control range.
... I'm really diggin' it so far...Does Tom charge extra for great looking one piece bodies like that?
At the end of the first Clement forum I was mentioning how i'm rethinking my use of Aggie OBP3s.
I have them installed in all 3 of my Clements and two other basses. While I love the sound, I'm challenged by its lack of subtlety. Turn the knob a tiny bit and the bass is suddenly shaking the ground.
Might be cool for a high energy player or soloist but I'm in need of more refined, usable control.
