Tom has glued up both walnut sets (top & back) and should be cutting up the spanish cedar main body blank today. I am sending him a hardware package today of things I already had on hand or special purchases for this build. Wait til we see the "sandwich shot" of the 2 walnut slabs and the cedar together. #122 Redwood bass is excited to have a new stable mate soon.

Some nice basses going on for the time being! That's great, we've been somewhat silent lately

But hopefully we'll get the activity up a little now, don't you guys think so?

PErsonally I've actually been playing a little bit lately. Been working on a "Karaoke" setup... involving a EHX Micro Pog to allow me to split my signal into a "dry" signal and an upper octave treated separately as a guitar signal and mixing them again later. With a looper pedal, a drum machine and some MIDI mics on my basses, it allows me to play around pretty heavily. So I find a nice groove on the drum machine (Alesis SR-18), lay down a bass line and repeat it on the looper (the hardest part being timing it properly with the drum machine so it doesn't get out of sync after a few rounds), and then play alternating bass / guitar / synth solos over top.

What we do when we lack people to play with, huh???!!!

Been fiddling about with Studio One for about a month or so. Accumulated around 20 fragmented arrangements none of which are complete.
Tom is currently ironing out a few details on #195. There should be some new pics to post soon. Funny thing, I'm more anxious to to see/play this one than #184 - must be the novelty aspect.

GBM, if you have any (well, almost any) type of sound file, you can get a free account at soundcloud.com and upload stuff there. It handles all the conversions and compression. I think you get something like 2 hours of music, no limit on file sizes. I found it quite easy to use

But I've reworked the lines using #164 and added some verse / chorus structure. I'll try to get it on soundcloud in the coming week.

I'm still planning a full 'Friedland-esque' review on #177 & #164, but struggling to find a decent camera to video it. Plus, I can't help feeling like a complete spud talking to the camera!!

Check it out, the man can play a bass! And isn't that a Clement bass he's jamming on???

I also own a Clement bass, and a Roland RC-2 Loop Station, now.... I don't sound anywhere close to that....

Hi everyone!

I read a lot about Clement basses and I got to say that Wavey Davey, you got one of the most beautiful instrument I ever saw! The spalted maple top is awesome and the model is original without being "over-the-top"! Congrats to you and, of course, to Mr. Clement!

I heard some of your soundclips (and she sounds very, very well...the slap tone is wow!) but I wanted to know if your bass is versatile! How does she do in rock, garage, heavy or even metal? Is she also able to produce deep "sub/dub" tones?
Anyway, beautiful instrument!
