Hey Mam, THanks for the kind words on #177, I'll make sure she hears about them!!

I play in a band doing a whole mix of covers, from the Foos to Chilis, Muse to P!nk, U2 and others. And #177 delivers on all of them. She really sits up in the mix, far more that any other bass i've used. So by no means a 1 trick pony, but i guess she sound best with funk. With the aguilar obp3, with it's uncouth basss eq, #177 does a very passable reggae, on the neck with a lot of low boost. I only ever get the bass up a 1/8 to 1/4 turn before things start shaking. by contrast, the nord in #164, I run almost flat out on the bass eq.

I'm planning a better reveiw soon, i'll post up on here when its done

hehe... thanks, mate :) It really wasn't meant as a fishing contest, though! *lol*

I am planning to record my new setup one of these coming days. I've got a fancy "split'n'mix" setup going at the moment. I'll sketch it below... :-)

starts with my Clement bass...

Clement w/Midi -> Roland GR-20 synth w/output to PA -> Dry signal fed to Lehle switch (to allow three instruments to be connected)

From the Lehle -> EHX Micro Pog
Pog Dry signal -> Boss ME50B multieffect -> Behringer line mixer.

Pog Effect signal -> Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus -> Behringer BO100 Blue Overdrive -> Morley Bass Wah -> Behringer Vintage Delay -> Ernie Ball volume pedal -> Behringer line mixer.

From the Behringer line mixer -> Sansamp Bass DI -> Effects loop containing Ibanez DE-7 delay -> EBS Bass Reverb
Sansamp output to Roland RC-2 Loop Station -> Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 210+TKS 112 cab.

That's about it :D The setup allows me to double my bass line with a "guitar signal" on top (fed from the upper octave on the Micro Pog) and is very useful in my power trio (well... duo... I guess considering a drum machine as a trio member would be an exagguration?). :) We do have a hope of bringing on board a drummer in time, though.

Oh, and the setup is pretty flexible, too, it allows me to bring everything from a volume pedal to the full setup, and a few useful combinations in between them. *hehe*

Now, anyone need a bass player out there???? :bassist::p

I'll try to offer up some photos later and possibly some soundscapes. And I know this is sort of off-topic... but... it's including up to 4 Clement basses (three through the Lehle and one extra through the Sansamp). :D:D

Nice Set up Mr Walker (I for one, don't consider that to be off topic!!)

For my home recording, I just plug into a Line6 KB37 - which gives me mic and instrument inputs, plus acts as my Controller KB. I then use Propellerhead Record to capture the dry signal. I can add a whole raft of effects using Line 6's PodFarm which (almost) integrates with the Propellerhead software. I also use propellerhead Reason, which DOES seamlessly integrate with Record, for Drum loops, Guitar loops, Synths, drum machines etc. I also use a Warwick Blue Cab 60 as a montior at home.

For Live, I have the Trace Elliot Rig - and the AH1000-12 head had one of the most versatile effects sections I've seen built in.

So currently I'm a bit like this -

Bass > AH1000
FX Lo Pass > EBS Octaver > AH1000 Left Channel > Trace 1x15 cab
FX Full Send > Big Muff Pi > Dunlop Bass Wah > EH Bass Balls > AH1000 Right Channel > Trace 2x10

It works pretty good, being able to split out the Octaver on the low pass really improves the tracking.

But being the serial fiddler that I am, I'm trying to figure out a way to hook up all the line 6 software effects into the live rig!

She is a mahogany/redwood body, maple neck, blood wood FB, fretted, Q tuner equipped, passive 6 string. Thanks Wavey for your guidance. #197 - 5 string fretless Anne with partial chamber, 2x Nord dual coil pickups, piezo bridge, Nord active EQ.
Black limba back & neck, redwood top.

I'm getting rather excited now!

Love the really fine grain on the top. Looking pretty special!

The excitement and anticipation of a custom build is a hell of a feeling! Is like GAS on steroids!!

pn day, That is delicious. Really brings out the dimensions of the Anne; just how forward the bottom leg contour is. You are right to be excited. With that combo of electronics, you will get some fine tones out of that one. Gets me excited, too knowing my Anne is #196. Congratulations to you.
