Some good news here :-)

The Yamaha TRB-6 got sold today, shipping out over the weekend. So my new JoAnne sent it into retirement. :D I must admit, however, that I haven't played any basses much lately.... so I guess it was probably *ME* who got retired... but at least I own them still! :D

Have been selling off quite a few basses lately. Not that I'm in bad shape when it comes to basses, I still have a few of them. But in addition to my Clements, there's now only a select few left. And those are mainly basses that have some sentimental or emotional meaning to me. :)

This thread gives me evil thoughts too. I'm fantasizing about one of these with a MM pup (the bass, not the nice young lady who's about the age of my daughters!) :eek:

BTW: Isn't against Clement policy to put a Fender strap on a Clement bass?

Gonna try some Labella tape wounds on Darlene #256 fretless. Will be 6 string for the black nylons but the F# is not used that often and I think it would mix well anyway being a bit softer sound anyway. Hmmmm. Love experimenting. Mwaa ha ha.

LOL, Someone else was giving me a hard time about this same thing in another thread. I do feel a bit disloyal with that Fender strap, but I'm having a hard time finding another one I like. I currently have a leather one on it, but I don't like the way it rubs.

Tom's basses are very sexy; evil thoughts are impossible to avoid. :D

Quick question your you guys, or Tom. What are you using, if anything, to clean your fretless bloodwood boards? Mine is not dirty per say, only showing some oil spots from my fingers touching it. I was just curious what would recommend for that wood.

My Clement Jon fretless #141 was strung with DR Black Beauties when I received it (still is). Today I listened to the sound samples on Tom's website. The ones I preferred were: Modern Double-cut #36; Allen #38; Joan #58; Ryan #69; Ryan #104, and; Joan #66.

I'd like a string that pretty much eliminates finger squeal but that still has a live sound not overpowered by deep bass.

I realize that sound preferences are entirely subjective but, hopefully, your suggestions can save me a few misguided purchases.

Appreciate any and all input. Thanks.
