Please, please this is not to resurrect the past 12 hours.

I would just like to say a quick "HELLO and THANK YOU"

TB is, and will always be, a great place. I am in a very positive place in my life and understand (all to well) the problems that can plague ones psyche. Not letting anyone off the hook or forgiving/forgetting right know, but last night was overall Outstanding. True, it was peppered with questions of my own intentions that confused me, but it was just all happening so fast and quite overwhelming to say the least.

kjpollo, you are unbelievably local to me and when the dust settles I would like to get together to talk, eat, drink, and of course PLAY and grow as musicians/friends

Dharmashawn,

I personally would like to apologize to you, I definitely questioned your legitimacy as well as the legitimacy of the entire situation and at a minimum I owe you an apology.

I'm sorry

Please understand it was just a VERY off the wall situation, and not something anyone sees happen day to day.
I was placing myself in your shoes and expecting your reactions to be exactly as my own would have been. That was wrong as you are not me and I am not you and we all handle things different.
Where I would expect myself to be outraged and very clearly displaying it I felt as though your reactions were more passive than mine would have been. And really who the hell am I to expect you to act one way or the other.

So again my apologies.

I hope everything works out and that little basstird didn't mess with anything on your bass.

I know I shoulda done this in a PM but I was 90% through with it when I thought about it, so apologies for that as well.

Good luck, take care.

Hey everybody! It's been a while stalking the thread, I've been thinking on getting an active preamp on my ryan, but I was wondering what are you guys using with your nordstrand pickups? (for those who use them)

I was considering the glockenlang or the nordstrand... But I still don't know, I'm considering getting 4 band and/or mid frequency switch, any ideas?

I would love to hear your own experiences with different preamps or any advice on the matter

Replies

1- I'll check audere and see how it sounds, the j bass replacement ones are cool but I didn't even knew they had others!

2- the nord sounds more like my thing, too much bottom ain't my thing, I've got something more like a warwick's growl vibe going on here, so of achievable I would head straight on to it

3- I don't really need super boosts/cuts, more like a "plus" to the articulation of the sound, current passive system is really nice, but sometimes I think it lacks that something, I want to achieve something more like a "fuller" sound (and less amp fiddling)

May I suggest EMG onboard pre? I have landed here with "C" #122 for quite sometime now and have no thoughts to change it any further. I don't have Nordy pups but just a suggestion. I hear a fuller focused sound more so than some of the others that have larger boosts. :bassist:

David, The EMG circuit works with non-EMG pups?? Never knew that. I thought they were proprietary to each other.

You really do learn something new everyday!!!

For those interested this is a good page to start at; the controls come in various configurations. And yes can be fitted to non EMG pickups. And very easy to work with/install with little to no soldering!

Interesting... I didn't know EMG did preamps without their proprietary connectors, I might try it, I was also eyeballing the delano sonar 3, I'll get you a review on the preamps (whichever I get) :D thanks for your input so far :D
