While on vacation in Florida with my wife (it's minus 40 back home in Manitoba), I got in touch with Tom to see if I might be able to visit the birthplace of my bass. He graciously agreed, so we drove up Sunday morning. Had a great time playing with his dogs and checking out his stock of wood. Took a few photos which I'll share early next week. Will also get to the man hisself play on Thursday evening at the Cabbage Patch bar.

Sorry about the damage I did to your ears Thursday I hope they have recovered. Very cool to meet you. :hyper:

Howdy, everyone. New to the club...#297. 17-35-5 Jon 3+" thick heavily-chambered Mahogany. 1-piece Western red cedar top. Hipshot piezo bridge and Bartolini buffer. Mahogany neck. 8.1 lbs. She plays and sounds like a charm! Here are a few pics of this unique build and some audio coming up shortly. :bassist:

I finally got around to re-stringing #262 with DR Nickel lo-riders. I'd been thinking about it for while and I'm glad I did :)
She really responded well - more pronounced 'mwah', swell seems to start earlier and mids are a bit more distinct. For what I use 262 for, it's a great match!
Tom- your work continues to amaze, my friend :bassist:

Well now, that's something I (we) have/must/need to hear. I assume the piezos are Graphtech ghosts in a Hipshot bridge - yes?
