Club Clement (Part 6: Post your basses here)

296 is back in the saddle with some muy grande fretwire and now it is everything I wanted. Feels just right. So much so that all my other basses are feeling lonely. Well except my fretless.

Now I need to save up for a new Clement Fretless...

I'm heading out soon to grab a nice interface to record some direct bass tones along with a mic'd cab and in context with some jazz drums and piano tracks I've got laying around.

I've been quite surprised with the 'out of the box' bass sound and so far haven't had to do anything any differently to dial in a good sound. Like a lot of folks on the forum, I've fought for years to get my upright and piezos to play nicely. Not any more! The Clement "Beast" (as Tom livingly called her) seems to have fit the bill - a versatile psuedo-upright. Close enough for jazz as they say.

Guys, I'm sitting here with my 6-string fretless Jon bass, and for teh N-th time, I'm amazed at how ridiculously low the action is. It's just... insane.... I had another bass in the house and checking it out, and I was quite impressed... until I picked up my Clement. The beautiful and comfortable neck profile, the action... the mwah... it just beats the crap out of any competition there is.

I wonder what string glue is used to glue these strings on to the fingerboard... Tom?

I try to follow every one. #296 is amazing. All the builds I'm seeing on FB are equally awesome. Probably will be a while but I plan on having a matching fretless built someday. If I fall into some money...

Bartolini B5BC pickups and Mike Pope Flexcore preamp. Restrung with D'Addario half rounds. This is a very versatile instrument. So far I've played jazz, pop, and bluegrass.
