Club Dark Star

I'd really want to know if Fred will get things up and running and we can expect production of Dark Stars to resume in a timely manner... I'm in the verge of paying a small fortune to buy me a used pickup...

Maybe Fred said what he wanted to say and now it's time let him work on what he said he would work on, and then, in due time, talk to his drop dead gorgeous wife. It sounds to me he had a plan and that it was a good plan.

It's a win-win! We get the pickups and get to talk to the drop dead gorgeous wife! I've met her, she's awfully nice and Fred don't lie.

Welcome back, Fred!

Yes indeed, I must speak with the wife! My needs are going to be simple this time, I'm going to restore my 69 Starfire back to Dark Stars once Fred gets back in production.

It's had 5 different pickup types in it's 43 years of existence, back to the Mothership with Fred (and perhaps a Noll preamp, works magic with my DS-3's because it goes from passive to engaged so nicely)

So glad to see you back Fred, you were very missed . . . .

This might be of interest to all you DS fans. Urban Pickups, a Swedish pickup maker that I have mentioned in earlier posts, is repairing an old Hagström bisonic with a NOS bobbin he got from Hagström. The pickups belongs to the bass player of a wellknown Swedish band from the village of Älvdalen (where Hagström is located too). It comes from an old Hagström Coronado IV (which I actually was going to buy but I wasn't quick enough - doesn't matter, I got myself a different one :) ).

Notice another unused NOS bobbin in the upper left corner. No holes! The bobbin with holes to the right is the NOS he used. He had to drill holes.
