Whoa!

I am blissfully content with my Accugroove El Whappo cabinet, and like my 4 Bose columns for smaller gigs, but I admit, I would definitely and seriously consider having an F cabinet.

The timing is very interesting for me: the El whappo is a MONSTER to lug about, and my Demeter tube head in the rack is more of a joy to hear than to transport as well, and I'm finally getting tired of that, and the Bose doesn't suit every situation.

George has been recommending Techamp Puma 500 heads. I wonder how they match up to this cabinet.

Definitely interested in checking out these new cabs as well. George has had an el whappo in the shop for some time now, and has been touting Tecamp recently, so I'm guessing anything he would put his name on must be able to seriously hold its own. That being said, as a Tecamp user, I can tell you that my tecamp rig sounds ridiculous with an F bass. Match made in heaven.

Tom what Demeter amp are you using, the tube amp (VTHF300M) or the HB600 hybrid head (HBP-1 with an attached poweramp)? That 300 watt tube amp has been on my lust list for years, probably the best sounding bass poweramp I've ever heard...

just got my VF-5 (NPF, rear routing, satin finish) today! man, i wish i was some sort of poet so i can do justice describing how awesome it is! there's just something about a red bass that gets your blood pumping no?

@metalstorm - you're absolutely right...i was trying to remember where i saw that type of finish, if it was on facebook or here. i hope you don't mind i based mine off of yours it's a really beautiful design.

just got my VF-5 (NPF, rear routing, satin finish) today! man, i wish i was some sort of poet so i can do justice describing how awesome it is! there's just something about a red bass that gets your blood pumping no?

@TapyTap - this one has a regular 34 scale neck. i had to get a 5 because i just sold my BN5 due to some major flooding here in the Philippines. needed the money for some house repairs and the sort. not a bad trade off at all this thing is a beast! i also forget who advised me not to go with a short scale when it comes to 5 string basses...maybe George or Marcel.

Yeah... on the F Bass site, they suggest 34" for the 4 & 5 string basses, and 34.5 for the 6. It's a matter of physics, and string tension, and all of that good stuff, that makes the strings resonate better and longer so that there are no dead spots...

when i see pics of your bass..i get so jealous..as my AC6 will soon go into production, total one off too!!...only another 6-8 month wait..LOL...
Waiting is the hard part for me ...but you must be feeling a sense of relief as you are only a few weeks away from recieving...That neck and body joint look seamless!
George and Jeff make this process of nailing down the custom order thing so easy and make you feel comfortable with options.
