I've played other dual coils exposed and non-exposed and I could never tell a difference. I just think they look really cool.

it's a really beautiful design. just got my VF-5 (NPF, rear routing, satin finish) today! man, i wish i was some sort of poet so i can do justice describing how awesome it is! there's just something about a red bass that gets your blood pumping no?
What scale length did you go with on this one?
this thing is a beast! i also forget who advised me not to go with a short scale when it comes to 5 string basses...maybe George or Marcel.@TapyTap - this one has a regular 34 scale neck. i had to get a 5 because i just sold my BN5 due to some major flooding here in the Philippines. needed the money for some house repairs and the sort. not a bad trade off at allthis thing is a beast! i also forget who advised me not to go with a short scale when it comes to 5 string basses...maybe George or Marcel.
