As much as my new BN6 is awesome I'm really not digging the case George sells, should I say gig bag. This is way to expensive an instrument to put in a gig bag, even a good one. Does anyone know of a quality hard case that will fit a BN6...?

Richard...this is what I bought...your Fbass Gig bag will fit right in side of case...its built like a brick Poop House.

see link...i bought the 16" one...I paid $200.00 for it...I bought mine on...I think Bassman10's recommendation.
it has wheels too!!!

Donovan at Fret Spot has made recommendation before..sorry cant remember what fits...
I bought basses from Donvan and he's shipped them in this hard shell case which I do recommend. I know from experience that it fits: BN5, BN6, AC6 and VF5 basses.

I contacted TKL and frankly they were usless....The longest case they have is 47.5 inches which is only 1/2 inch longer than my BN6 so I'm a little worried it may not fit.

Richard..I feel your pain...I couldnt find a case either..well one that would give me piece of mind when I threw it in the back of the van on the way to a gig..thats why I went with the SKB roller case...ya it looks funny .but it works...and when you open it up to show off your Fbass..people will understand..LOL

Not sure where you live but here is another custom maker in US...

Also, there is another SKB hard case to fit your gig bag inside designed for guitars/basses...but the reviews are quite poor!!!

I can't seem to get an F Bass BN5 off my mind after playing an Ash/Maple BN5 at Bass San Diego. Damn! Thinking of trading or flipping a Nordy VP5 to get a BN5 again. Possibly a VF5. I played an Alder/RW VF5 60's spacing that I felt was much punchier and alive than the Ash/Maple VF5. Don't remember if PU spacing is different or not.

That said, the BN5 has a presence that is unmatched. Just sayin; ...Seems I tempted to drink F Bass kool-aid once more. :D

BN5s are so the bomb. I sold one and went with other options as you have...and regretted it. I've been playing the same one for about 10 years now and will never sell it. It gets so many different tones, all of which are sooo good. Scooped slap - unbelievable. Back pickup bark - a knockout. Both pu's fingerstyle - doesn't get better.
Good Luck, Gary.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, I may make a triumphant return to F Bass BN5 land. when I had mine (had two!) ...I always got compliments on them. There is not another bass on the planet like a BN5.
