Wow, that is awesome! It reminds me very much of my ambrosia-topped BN4.

The bottom one pictured has 24 frets and so did mine, so george cuts the horns to access the higher frets. I actually prefer the 22 fret models myself. They look more "balanced".

Thanks for doing this video, Donovan; I really enjoyed it.

I have a BN6, an AC6, a VF5, and a BN5, and some great basses by other manufacturers...

But what I don't have is my own voice.

I've got some great basses for cover situations, and basses that fit right in for various styles, but one thing I've still wanted is something that is more or less all my own, for when I'm playing music that likewise is all my own, a unique but really nice voice, you know?

This really seems to hit that target, and I'm excited to be working towards it coming here.

EDIT: LOVE that funk pluck sound Donovan gets at around 9:00 on the video. I am really excited about the possibility of this being added to the pallets of colors available to me.

My vote is to keep George as #00 as an honorary member of the club and as our "go to" reference point. To me it does look weird for the designer/builder to be #1 - like he started it to worship his work.

I think Tom7 should be #1. He works very hard keeping this thread organized. I can tell that it is a ton of work. I can also say, that I very much enjoy Tom7's insightfulness. It is obvious that he thinks alot about things and I often read his posts a couple of times because I appreciate the way he puts his thoughts into words. I also appreciate the "humaness" of his posts - discussing how he feels when he hits plateaus or has doubts about his playing - stuff we all experience but don't talk about.

Tom7 is the glue that holds this thread together. He comments on everything of importance. He makes everyone feel welcome and repeats technical information and sends links of sound clips to any newbe and wannabe who enters the thread with "Wow cool basses, never heard of them."

Tom7 gets my vote.

I completely agree that Tom7 deserves the #1 spot - I just don't know that he wants it. In the past he's made it clear that he wanted #7, being as how he is the 7th Tom Pittman... But Tom, if you decide you'd like to have it, or that it makes sense, I'm sure that ALL OF US would support that decision. You are the glue that holds this group together. I'm personally very thankful of our relationship, and I appreciate everything you've done for me and for this group.
