Club Fbass (thread 13)

¿Es el de Nueva Jersey?

Si es así, entonces no, porque ese bajo parece haber sido modificado para la pastilla del puente. Parece mucho en efectivo con su IMO JO4 de EE. UU. [/ QUOTE]

Guys qq for VF5 P or PJ - do those nail the vintage P sound? I need this for some projects ,(P5 with flats) and I am sooo used to my bn5 that I would like to expand with VF5 but am torn between some other P5 options on the market. The goal is the to have that vintage bloom to the note which is so characteristic to P bass

In my opinion it could IF you go with something other than the Aguilar P pickup. Nordstrand or Alleva Coppolo (which I believe are both options on a custom build)

To my ears the Aggie P5 pickup doesn't nail the Fender P sound. It does it's OWN thing which is great and paired with their Humcancelling J, it makes one of the best PJ sets out there.

Just my 2 cents.

POTENTIAL TRIGGER WARNING

After having my VF5 sit in the classifieds for a bit, I decided to take advantage of the solderless swap pot and the dual routings and try out another P2 sized option.

I had been hearing some Brubaker and MTD samples of the Bartolini Original Bass Dual coils and since I happened to have a set in my pickup pile I was curious to see how it would pair with the F Bass pre.

It's definitely NOT what I would typically throw in (usually go with a Jazz style or P style Pickup) but so far.. I'm LOVING it.

Might be sacrilegious.. but IMO sounds great with the F Pre (I HATE the Bart NTMB preamp these pickups typically come paired with)

Took advantage of the overcast Texas morning to snap a shot with the makeover.

I agree with the A.C. Pickups. It's the best sounding pickup I've heard in a VF bass. Jimmy's pups with George's preamp are IT!

The super steps still work best for me on my AC5, but when I had an AC6 I liked TI Jazz Bass flats on it.

Amazingly, there was no need to adjust the bridge, despite the TIs not being tapered.
Also, the 34.5" scale brought out a really nice feel in the TI flats, which felt lower tension than they feel on 34" basses – really nice!

Hello AC series owners
what's your favorite strings replacement other then the labella super step
have you seen any nylons flatwound with exposed core out there?
