Club Fbass (thread 13)

Okay. Who got this beast from Ish?

Saw this on IG—was just about to post a pic. My thoughts exactly…after seeing so many typical mop, abalone, etc blocks…agree, this is truly next level! I like the red blocks they use on the red/black fade body, also…

I think the VF was a special order as it hasn’t been listed on the Ish site now or in the past. The Insta posts reads… “One of our favorite builds from 2023, a custom VF4-J ordered by our NY dealer” Ish does some crazy stuff and there is a tour video where he was pulling out a few tops.

I’ve decided I’m calling my new BN the BN5 Special Deluxe. It really isn’t a Smith and thankfully so.

Spectacular purchase. Congrats.

I agree with your Smith comment. If it was a custom neck-thru with 18mm spacing with that pickup positioning, then it would be closer to the claim.

I own both and love both. They are their own thing. No need to merge them.

They compliment each other well.

Again, just love your new bass.

Thanks… other than pickup position, I viewed it as a stylistic interpretation; walnut, flamed maple, etc… Since I play mainly gospel and CCM, I’ve seen a lot of smiths. It’s kind of amazing I never bought one.

So far I really like the tone, and all the varieties I’ve found so far.

As much as I would like another Fbass, it turns out that I am not done exploring my first one. It's been just over a year now and I haven't even opened the preamp compartment or changed batteries yet.
I am most excited about discovering hum cancelling mode, favoring the rear pickup. Every bass I've owned had either V/V or blend options but I've never found them useful. This is the first bass that I can truly blend as much front and rear as I want. HC mode also makes the midrange more focused. This bass just keeps on giving and I am so glad I purchased when I did. They could've easily charged for the level of flame on the neck and fb.
With that said, that Trans red, ash/ebony on the Music Force site is speaking to me!

While not the USA, I did buy this bass from Music Force and had it sent to Canada. They were great to deal with and I would use again. Great communication, and really helpful throughout the process. FedEx had some issues with the bass getting lost on both ends but that was beyond Music Force’s control. If you need more details fee free to PM me.

Good to know. I’ve ordered things from Canada and the UK. I know there are occasional hiccups and import duties that can pop up. It’s good to know that Music Force is easy to communicate with. I think I had questions about them because their F Bass stock seems to linger on Reverb longer than other sellers, which seemed odd.

Also, that’s a gorgeous bass.
