Hey all, long time lurker of this thread and TB in general (my account is almost old enough to drink!) - I wanted to pop in and share my love for the brand and my little collection I have going:

The P5 I got new and the other two I have picked up used over the years. I currently have an Ocean Turqouise P4 on order that I am coming up on the 3y wait mark for (worth it ). The guitars are just as magical as the basses and thankfully, for me at least, under the radar still. I have a lot of super nice other guitars (Suhr Custom, PRS Private Stock, etc) but keep coming back to the S-Classic. I've been on the lookout for a T-Classic for some time now and have stupidly let a few slip through my fingers, including Tim LeFebvre's on Reverb, who got me into this mess in the first place (as a Wayne Krantz megafan). Maybe when the P4 comes in I'll hop right back in line for a T-Classic.

Iphone didn't do a great job of capturing the colors, the P-Classic V is a "Brtish Racing Green" but in my mind its more of an "Irish Green" a la Porsche, BRG I associate more with darker shades like an old Jaguar. It's a super cool finish and a much lighter shade than it looks here. The S-Classic is sonic blue and looks it in the photo, but in real life has faded to more of a seafoam green. The J-Classic is of course Olympic white and is a fretless, which I picked up here on TB from @The Gear Guru a few years back. It might be my favorite of the bunch.

Like others, these instruments have some sort of je ne sais quoi about them. The P5 I had originally planned to put flatwounds on it but the bass never really took to them, it just wants to rock so the DRs went back on. The J-Classic has flats (Chromes I think?) but still sounds super bright, it came with a finished fretboard so I could put rounds on there but right now I am loving the sound of it and typically prefer flats anyways. The now mythical P4 will have flats from the factory and will hopefully keep them forever.

Here are a few tunes from my YT channel that have the basses on them, fair warning the signal is heavily processed so its not going to be a definitive sound sample or anything. Also fair warning that my music is kinda weird, lol

I'm in Austin too and it's great to see others in town have Moollons! I have a Desert Sand Moollon P with a maple soft V-neck if you want to come over and play it! I LOVE the look of rosewood but the one-piece maple V has been my fave for tone and playability.

I chatted with YJ last night and for the first time he actually indicated that the idea is something he's been toying with for a while(!). P-style pickguard as on the P-Classic V, split shaft pots for 2V/2T control, it seems to be in the works, and although he hopes for the final design and images to be posted to be a big surprise, for those who may want a P-Classic V with much more tonal control in the next logical step of design, we may be able to expect the first completed prototype by summertime. Stay tuned ;)

Sorry for dusting off the post from 6 years ago! But just reading up all I can on PVs... Has the above idea ever came to life?
