I don’t think strap locks are sacrilege on moollons, but I’ve found I don’t need them on any bass any more personally. Once I stopped hanging my bass down low below my belt in my teens I’ve never had a strap get even close to popping off so haven’t considered strap locks as needed.

I think part of my straps staying on is that once they’re on, I leave them on. I own one strap per bass. It’s more money, but I never ever ever forget a strap at a gig, nor do I ever have to adjust strap length when switching basses. It’s been worth it for me. YMMV.

I haven’t touched my P pickups from the “factory”. I set my J V to Fender’s height specs.

It’s very slight. But my ebony P loves rounds and the maple one adores flatwounds. In my world anyway! I tried swapping them once and it was great but I swapped back in a couple days.

The maple sounds like an “older” bass, to me. I don’t know how to quantify the voodoo behind that statement but I stand by it.

Every bass I own gets it’s own Comfort Strap with Dunlops. And they never come off.

Keep it simple.

The GAS for a Moollon J IV is starting to build up. I always thought I'm not a jazz bass guy, never really liked to play them with the exception of 1 or 2 short experiences a long while ago (that I might have romanticised in retrospect). But seeing video's of Moollon J's have started an itch. Though the idea of another 4 year wait after waiting 3 years for my P classic doesn't excite me
