Wonderful answer.

I owned a 6K Fodera that I hated playing. And a Squire P that anytime I was in the room I had to stop and pick it up and play it.

Regardless of what’s on the headstock or how much it costs, if it inspires me to play it then it’s a keeper.

The Thomastik jazz flats that came installed were quickly replaced with Labella Low Tension flats, a big improvement for my tone and feel preferences. Loving this bass so far but will probably try some DR Sunbeams or Dunlop SBN on here too as I always seem to return to medium gage nickel roundwounds... Has anyone else come to conclusions on rounds/flats for the P classic 5 stringers, or Moollons in general?

I has a bass like that, an OLP Stingray copy. GC had six in stock played three and was underwhelmed.

Then I played the fourth it played great no fret sprout, and even had a lightly figured Birdseye board. Loved that bass but unfortunately loved my drug of choice more at the time and pawned it.

Many sober moons later I found my dream Musicman a 20th anniversary Stimgray Quilt top mint condition. Didn’t bond with it at all and sold it. If I ever crossed paths with my former OLP would buy back it in a heartbeat!

Congratulations on the sobriety!

Best thing I ever did.

The life I have today wouldn’t have been possible without recovery/sobriety.

Just celebrated 32yrs…one day at a time.

This was my second gig with the PV. It sounded great through the Noble and even with the back line rumble for this small park gig. It’s got NYXL rounds on it that Derek recommended. They play and sound great. At some point soon I’ll throw some Labella’s on there as they are my fav flats and I know Kenny swears by them too.

Thank you Kenny and congratulations on 32 years! A few more one day at a times October will be 16 for me.

When Sam decided to part with his Classic P I was able to buy it. That wouldn’t have been possible prior to getting sober. Very grateful !!!

The PV went from a good bass to a great bass when I put the flats on it.
